What happened?

Used to be a very good course but seems to have been neglected somewhat, daisies on the greens are never a good sign, real shame as the course layout is really good and with a bit of investment could go back to its former glory

Poor all-round

Played Boothferry a number of times over the years and unfortunately its very much a course in decline. Arriving early on a weekend morning with only a few cars in the car park, alarm bells were ringing.

I agree with other reviews, its a good layout and challenge for all abilities. The introduction of robotic lawnmowers is great but seems to be at the expense of greenkeepers rather than in support given the lack of upkeep of the bunkers and state of the greens. I note issues with irrigation etc. but couldn't see any signs of interim measures (such as hosepipes and sprinklers) to try and protect the greens.

Regrettably I won't be rushing back.

Better…….

The fairways and rough have been tidied up well. The greens are still unplayable. So much potential at this course just needs a cash injection and it will be great.

Quiet course

A nice walk round. The fairways are good. The bunkers and greens need a lot of work.

Great course shame about the greens

The course is good, layout great only thing that let it down was the condition of the greens. Its a shame as it let the rest of the course down.

Great course

Great course nicely laid out .

The greens could have done with a bit of water on them as was dried out.

But it was a very hot day .

Would highly recommend

First Time Playing

Payed via GN but course had a sign saying closed

Booked via golf now but arrived to see a sign in the reception door saying course closed. As we had played and it had takesn us 40 mins to get there we still went around. The only people on the course.

Absolutely Terrible

Maybe the worst course I’ve played.

Most greens were quite frankly unplayable, we didn’t even take the putter out the bag on most.

Dead grass left from the robotic mowers

Shop not manned / closed

£18 which yes is cheap for a round, but honestly felt like a complete waste of money, I have emailed to give my feedback as I noticed some replies to comments to do that but had no reply.

Just don’t waste your time here

Enjoyable Course But Very Poor Greens

I have played Boothferry a couple of times. It's actually a really fun course with bags of potential. The greens on this occasion were really poor. But in contrast some of the fairways were absolutely fantastic. I'd love to see this course with proper funds to take it forward.

Better than expected

The reviews I had seen were not great. However as a novice golfer the course was fine. Yes greens not perfect but good value for money. Certainly not as bad as the reviews I read. Would play there again.

Fairways where in good condition. Greens need more attention as it was hard to putt out with the condition of greens

Windy weather
Walked

Best weather of the year so far

Played the front 9. Round in 2.5 hours had a great game. Some of the greens were having maintenance but didn't affect the game. A recommendation for Boothferry can you sign post the different holes a bit clearer as there was some uncertainty using the map. Thanks will be back!

Awful

This course is in desperate need of investment as it is in awful condition. Played here once before when it was frozen and thought I’d give it another chance- big mistake. Grass cuttings everywhere, overgrown tee boxes, overgrown rough, all bunkers had grass in them. The greens were terrible- yellow grass with mud patches all over, holes from what I was told was squirrels, worm casts all over the 3rd green. Fairways are boggy due to having no drainage and have dug in muddy tyre marks from grass cutters. I was told that there was only 2 greenkeepers and even with having only 2 they were part time! I played 11 holes and gave up due to poor conditions making it almost unplayable. Staff were very friendly and the driving range next door is good although all the balls were covered in mud. Would not recommend. This place has potential to be a world class course but it needs proper investment from the owners.

Definitely an improvement!

I’ve played here over the Summer, and agree with other reviews it wasn’t looking its best. But I was pretty impressed today (6/10/2024) how much better it looked both on the fairway and on the Greens, facilities a little low at the moment, and the air compressor wasn’t working. Some great deals to play here, but at £23 around, it’s not too bad.
