Course in terrible condition

I've been playing this course for 15 years now and this is the worst I've ever seen it , I losr 2 balls on fairways as the grass is that long, the first and second cut is wild

Everywhere you looked people were searching for balls

The greens were bare and cracked nearly impossible to putt on

It's a shame really as this is one of my favourite courses , and I won't be playing it again until it changes hands

Not well maintained.

Fairways needed cutting. Greens were inconsistent and the rough was very rough. Take plenty of balls.

No first cut

Overall course was very nice and we enjoyed our round. Excellent value for money. One negative being there was no first cut just off the fairway, meanIng you were frequently punished and searching for balls when you were only inches from the fairway. If this was addressed there would be no negatives.

Boothferry GC

Nice course to play with lots of little streams that criss cross around the course. The greens could do with a little attention but overall a lovely course.

Disappointed

Course was unplayable with the standing water and bog like conditions.

The tea boxes or winter tea boxes are dangerous with now slippy they were.

And the 3 ball in front were extremely slow and felt like it was purposeful towards the end. From hole one we were behind them right at the tea box and never let through.

9 holes played, such a shame as a day we were very much looking forward too

Friendly Club

This was our second time. Everyone we met was very friendly. There was a shortage of trolleys. We could not use our own so we had to carry our trolley bags until the 10th when there were some available.

Course was slightly boggy in places with recent rain but the greens were excellent and the course was a good layout with longer par 4s that we are used to!

We will definitely come again (prepared) and would recommend. Thank you to the lovely members we met who were really welcoming to my wife, daughter and me.

Amazing Design, Average Quality

First time playing the course and I was sceptical with rounds being offered as low as £10 on a Sunday without any hot deal bonus.

Upon arrival we were greeted and given a course explanation and a brief history of the course which was a nice touch. The Clubhouse was clean and tidy and a pint was only £4!, no complaints reallt other than the driving range attached to the ground didn't open until 9am due to staffing issues.

The course itself was fantastically designed, it was long and challenging but completely flat. There were 52 bunkers, well positioned to add to difficulty and some well thought out treelines and other natural hazards to make you consider your club off the tee.

We paid £20 for our round and I think I'll some it up by breaking down the quality v design by saying at least £15 of that would be towards the design and only £5 toward the course maintenence.

There didn't appear to be fairways, just a steady 1st cut around the full 18, and the tee boxes (not in use) and greens really needed some TLC, with a proper injection of funding and resource this course could easily be charging around £40/50+ a round.

All in all a really enjoyable round, would definitely recommend to others and will be heading back soon, really liking forward to a summer round at Boothferry to see if they address some of the quality concerns with the change in conditions.

Well worth a trip.

As mentioned by other reviews some greens and tees were needing some attention but cost needing and my son 10.00 pound each, good staff on site.

It is a long course in parts so not one for a raw beginner but very good value.
