Boothferry Golf Club

On arrival I was asked to pay for 3 green fees even though I hsd booked and paid online. I had to show proof on my phone that i had already paid but they were still dubious.

Usually in the pro shop they are more than helpful so i'm not sure if the person i dealt with was new.

The course itself was boggy in places but we expected this after a lot of rain.

5 or 6 of the greens were practically unplayable dye to the number of fallen catkins on them. Need someone out to give the greens a good sweep

I’ve only been playing golf a few years but I can genuinely say I’ve never seen greens in such a poor condition, do not recommend at all

Suprisingly few people on the course to say we teed off at midday on a Sunday. No-one in front of us so speed of play was excellent. The course was very boggy in places and we were playing off temporary tees. The greens weren't in the best condition but was expected due to time of year. The price was reduced to reflect this so overall we have no complaints. Just pointing these details out so other golfers are prepared.

First time playing, very welcoming on arrival, staff very helpful. Will play again soon.

This is a great course. Nice and flat so easy to get around. Played 2nd week of Jan and all the greens were in play and well looked after.

Challenging yet rewarding course, tough and demanding course at time but some holes where the course allows you to steady your score.

We were looking for a good course to play in Winter and this did the job - great condition for January considering all the recent rain!

We played in December after quite a bit of rain so the course was boggy in places but nearly all the greens were in very good condition considering the amount of rain they'd had. It was £15 pp for 18 holes which is really cheap and 100% worth the money. Not a bad course at all. The bar was closed when we finished but that's probably because of the date but wouldn't have minded a beer after the round.

Course was generally good condition. Far too many leaves on the second but overall a good course . The bacon butties. We’re however precooked and terrible. Requesting well done bacon meant it was merely cooked longer with the bun in the microwave. Let everything else down

While I appreciate the difficulty of keeping an area of this size in top condition, to say we were disappointed is an understatement.

The Green were obviously under maintenance, something clubs would do well to advise people before booking. However there is maintenance and there is what we found, lumps of sand and weeds and pins which don’t look like they have changed positions in weeks.

Bunkers we were informed were all GUR. The semi and rough were punishing to say the least and the Teeing areas looked like they needed moving to give them time to repair. Whole place smacks of a lack of investment and staffing. Two members of our party are green keepers and understand the difficulties, however this was as bad as we have seen. Place has potential but won’t be returning.

Hate to be critical of any course. But this was just horrible.

Obviously lacking in staff or investment as the greens were just terrible.

I appreciate course maintenance has to happen but seriously this was more like a farmer’s field. Fairway were ok but most other parts of the course were badly. And I mean badly in need of some serious help.

Never felt ripped off paying £25 for 18 holes till today.

Really poor won’t be returning
