Good test , tough course
Very friendly club testing course. Very tricky greens hard to read but good surfaces, well worth a visit and nice views too
Bolton's best kept secret
I've lived just a few miles from this course for the last 20 years and never heard much about it. When it showed up on teetimes.co.uk for £9 + booking fee for 18 holes i thought what have i got to lose.
On arrival the members, staff and pro couldn't have been friendlier. The pro shop was well stocked and the course looked in great condition.
The course isn't super long but what it lacks in length it makes up in layout. You really have to plot your way round the front 9 before the longer holes really challenge on the back 9.
The course was in incredible condition considering it's October, the greens some of the best i've played at this time of year. The pace of play was suprisingly good considering quite a few four balls went out right before us. The little touches - yardage markers, ball cleaners, hole maps on every tee and tee box markers were all pristine and i even got a fantastic course guide from the pro shop for just £2.50
One word of warning, it isn't an easy walk and a buggy might have helped. I didn't see any available but that's not surprising given the time of year.
I have nothing but good things to say about this course. It's been on my doorstep all this time, i'm glad i got the opportunity to give it a try and will definitely return.
At £9 + £1 booking fee, it's an absolute steal. Clearly the management team need to do a better job at marketing this hidden gem.
Nice course
Played this course on a Monday, very quiet, at times had course to myself. Friendly welcome in pro shop but clubhouse closed Mondays. Course in reasonable condition, greens were being spiked but did not alter the roll too much. Course layout okay, good signage to next holes. Handy hole planner on board at each tee. Some gentle hills to negotiate but certainly not a hard walk around. Great value for money, well worth a round if not played there before.
