Great routing, brilliant greens
Greens in cracking condition for the time of year. Friendly pro and members. Good verity if holes. Superb par 3s
Enjoyable Challenge
An enjoyable challenge plus some lovely scenery to take in. I must say that the course was in excellent condition and dry despite recent rain in the area. The greens all played true and with reasonable pace. A course I'd like to come back to again. All the staff I came across were very helpful and friendly as we're other golfers on the course
Good challenge
Considering the recent weather conditions the course was in excellent condition. A couple of the bunkers could stand more sand and the grass on a few tees was a bit long but nit picking really. Would benefit from an area to get warmed up (nets). Food and drink very good with friendly staff in pro shop and bar
Enjoyable course with some quirky holes
Difficult to judge course as greens had recently been sanded.and it affected scoring badly. Nevertheless an enjoyable experience and will return in summer. Some very quirky holes especially blind par 3s and holes near the quarry.
Not a fan
We arrived to what we thought looked like a nice course practice facilities poor ,practice net not very good round the back of the club and same for the putting area. The chap in the pro shop was very friendly and helpful ,he did inform me the greens are being dug up from Monday the 13th September so do not play this course !We teed of on time with no feel of being rushed ,the 2 ball in-front got in a bit of trouble at the first so we had a bit of a wait ,which was fine as like us they were playing the course for the first time .then we got to the 2nd hole a short par 4 my son played his 2nd shot then got the inevitable golf ball over his head (twice) with no shout at all (obvious MEMBERS).So not a good start really ,after that we played the course with no hold ups ,the greens are not very good ,probably why they’re digging them up!The course in general has a nice layout not very hilly and has some really good looking holes but I will not be going back ,davenport golf course blows this out of the water also a mention to Darwen excellent course and clubhouse!!
A beautiful course, I could not recommend it enough. I loved the course, even though it drizzled throughout the game. Personally, I used every club in my bag. Not many courses require that. The club members were welcoming, as were the staff. The club house is absolutely charming. .
A great place to be!
A gem of a course. Well maintained. The rough is really tough. Greens were in good nick.
Great Course
Great holes for all levels of golfer. Great views and a beautiful course
Great course
Drove past this course loads and finally got to play it . Greens are as smooth as silk and the course was in tip top condition . 4th -6th hole were especially good with a slight links feel about them . Topped of with a great view of the hills this was a delightful course to play and I will definitely be returning
Well worth a visit.
Buxton is blessed with two great golf courses; Buxton & High Peak and Cavendish. Having recently played Cavendish, which was excellent, I played Buxton & High Peak today, and it was excellent too. The course condition is a credit to the greenkeepers. If you're in Buxton or planning a visit, I would certainly have a round here, in fact try to play both courses.

Lovely
High Peak is a great course, friendly club staff, really varied and interesting course and we didn’t lose a ball between us! Perfect
Thoroughly enjoyed round
Great round in the sun early on a Wednesday morning. Course in great condition and very nice greens. Would definitely play again.
Buxton trip
Great golf course with excellent fairways and greens. First 9 is a lot harder than the back 9. If you keep it on the fairway you can expect a low score. Pin positions are excellent land correctly on the green and the ball will find it’s way to the hole (one player got an eagle from 130 yards out) first time playing the course but I could tell it’s one of the easier courses around, I would recommend for novice/intermediate golfers as there are some short par 4’s and visable tee to green holes.
Lost a heap of balls
Was a bit damp to begin with but the course played really well. I did lose lots of balls though - for me unusual. Had great fun though
