Fantastic and testing course

Played Cavendish for the first time and was really impressed with the quality of the fairways and greens.

Members were very friendly and helpful and it was a great experience to play on greens that had significant slope and pace and to get half a feel for what professionals play on!!

Unreal course

Course lived up to expectations from the views to the condition of the place and of course the greens designs by allistair mckenzie, for this time of year u cant get much better condition in the uk, would love to play it at its best in the summer. For 45 pound each for 3 of us I think its a bargain, had 3 new nets built to a high quality too so would definitely recommend

Beautiful course throughout the year

Cavendish rarely disappoints. If you catch it on a good weather day it really is the ‘Augusta of the North’ - pretty little down hill par 3s, little stone arch bridges and in great condition and surrounded by countryside. It’s not particularly long and I wouldn’t call it a test of golf, but there’s plenty to keep you thinking. The 10th for example has enough obstacles for you to really have your distances dialled in. The layout is great too.

Masterpiece

Having read loads of reviews online regarding this being the inspiration for Augusta we finally got to play here, and the moment you arrive and walk to the putting green the course shows you it’s best, rolling hills elevation changes and you haven’t even started yet.

Course is in unbelievably great condition fairways lush greens run true, the false front are a killer, you need to land on the top otherwise the ball is 40 foot below the hole. Holes 10 and 11 are the best back to back holes I think I’ve ever played, played absolutely shocking but came off the 18th with a big smile on my face having absolutely loved every minute of my time here.

Would highly recommend this course to anyone!!!

Great fun

Loved everything about this place. Staff friendly not pretentious - course brilliant such a rollercoaster ride you just have to hang on. Views breathtaking. I had a smile on my face all the way round even when a birdie putt on the par 5 trickled off the front of the green and then my chip back onto the green rolled back past me and I ended up with a snowman. Great choice of ale as well shame I was driving. Will definitely be back

Brilliant Course

Had a great time at Cavendish. Course not long, but very challenging with strong wind the day we played. Greens are also very undulating and very well protected. Can see the Augusta 'vibes' in many aspects of the course.

Will definitely be back, very good value for money.

Fine course

Great course, defended by tricky greens.

Golf now paired us up with two others which is fine but not happy when they said they’d paid £20 less each. Puts me off using golf now again

Life affirming

Members here are the luckiest golfers in the world. Played it when very wet underfoot so not ideal for true experience of the course, designed by one of the greats. Unlikely I could say anything not already said about this course. The greens, fairway undulations and routing are incredible. The trees and plants in that setting are a slice of heaven. The green fee of £30 is unbelievable value. I’ll be back come summer for a day or two to enjoy it again.

A round at Cavendish

this was my first time playing the course and I found from the time I arrived to the time I left the staff and members of the club freindly and hospitable. The course for me was a good challenge as I don't get to play that often, the fairways are nice and wide and thegrass short, even on teh edge which is a help to a novice like me saved me a number of balls, the greens are well kept.

Thank you to all at eth Cavendish golf club for a wonderful day of golf, I would highly recommend this course, especially if you haven't played it before
