Do not pay and play!!
Been a member of this club for the last 2 years we have been had over by the club big time no refunds unless you join again and dont believe what tgey say about salt its rubbish!!! The greens have not been playable for a year now and now only 25 percent playable so if i was you i would avoid at all cost and go else where and save the disappointment.
As for the 9 hole par 3 well thats even worse!!
Terrible.
I barely ever leave reviews, but I felt like I’ve got to warn people what they’re in for...
It was well noted that the club had problems with their greens over the winter, which is fair enough, it was noted on here and was unfortunate.
Yes, they shouldn’t have charged full price but it was our choice if we wanted to pay.
Well now the greens are apparently fixed and their is no notice of anything wrong...
I can confirm they are awful, you can’t putt or chip. They are bobbly and just not playable.
I had to pay full price for the displeasure as well.
What a shame how the club is falling away.
Even with the greens being terrible at the moment I still think you get good value for money at this course. I’m sure when we get some rain the greens will get back to their best very soon.
Improvements still required.
All greens remain poor. Impossible to putt. Hard to put tee pegs in as tee boxes are barren and dry.
On a positive note there are less holes in the car park.
Some nice holes
The greens are still recovering from a salt water irrigation issue last year so are pretty poor and the course is a bit scruffy, but there are some really nice holes, I like it and with a bit more work/care it cojld be really good.
No facilities
Disgusted that there were no toilet facilities. All toilets out of service. Come on sort it out. There are many players rely on services like these without the need for embarrassment having to explain why!
£20 is too much for this course
Poor layout, greens out of use, slow play, and artificial T Boxes, but still charging £20 ...very disappointed
Arrived to find out that they were playing preferred greens due to an salt water issue they had with the main greens. Was informed I should have received a pop up box online when booking informing me of this. Sadly this was not the case and travelled 45 miles to then be told.this. I think the course green fee should have been reduced to reflect this but because I had already paid online this would have not been possible. Apart from this the fairways on the back nine where not that great either. Sadly a fairly disappointing round with a large number of the holes shortened in length due to the issues taking away the overall experience and reduced the competitive enjoyment.
All temp greens
All greens are temporary and not greens at all. Not advised on booking or at course
Needs a complete refurbishment
After playing this course a few times before it’s sad to see the course has deteriorated.
They do have a ongoing problem with greens due to salt contamination hence all 18 greens are temporary.
The tee boxes are in an appalling state and the fairways are not maintained to a good standard.
We paid £20 each for a round and too be fair it’s not even worth a tenner.
Such a shame as the course layout is challenging, nice clubhouse but it’s evident to see no money has been spent on the maintenance to maintain a decent course.
Worst course I’ve ever played
Worst course I’ve ever played, 17 out of the 19 greens were being repaired but yet they had the audacity to charge £20 per person, which is just laughable. I could have gone out with a spade and a flag and played down my local park it was that bad. No mention of the greens being out of action by the staff either.... just willingly welcoming us mugs who turned up after paying £20 to play on that joke of a course.
See photos attached of the state of the greens that were somehow worthy of the price...
Don't waste your money
Terrible conditions. No improvement in the course for years cant even hit off a even tee. Full of mud. No bunkers in play as there seems to be a worldwide sand shortage. All temp greens.
Can honestly say don't waste your money even if this review is 6 months plus old as it won't get any better that i can assure you. At the prices that are being charged be better to play crazy golf
Greens in very bad condition
Wish we never played on coarse in such bad condition. Payed a lot of money for four ball, greens had been ruined by being watered with salt water. Won't reccemend to play here at this moment in time.
No information
Arriving at the course having played there before expecting and good day,
Went into the shop to hire a trolly all very good,
Tee of from the 10th hole rabbit holes all in fairway, not the odd 1 but loads, when we arrived at the green it was not even green, brown no grass at all, this continued for the whole course,
When we finished we went back to the shop and asked why we had not been informed of the conditions of the greens as we would not of played, or given us the option, to lay £25 for the state of the course was dreadful, all we were told was to phone a number to have a conversation poor service, apparently salt water got in the system to cause this situation but we should of been informed before tee off, people planning on going save your money & look elsewhere
The photo says it all
Still a week later shocked that it’s £25 per round given the condition of the course.
True review
Firstly the greens are in poor condition but I haven’t marked down my rating for this as this was stated before I paid..You had to be aggressive with your putting.
I arrived late went to the pro shop explained to the lady behind the counter.and It wasn’t a problem I had to wait only 20 minutes .While waiting had a coffee in the club house and was treated equally as well.
The course layout was very good the short drivable par 4’s 10th,13th and 15th are very well protected. The risk and reward holes I found was the 3rd and 11th both par 5’s .
The fairways are burnt and hard if you don’t like this don’t play in the summer. leave your driver in the bag and use irons and play golf. All the greens I hit held.
The reason I marked the course down was because of the bunkers they were all GUR and wasn’t notified before play. I’m coming back in the Winter to play this course as I think this will be a good challenge.
