For a cheap round the course was worth it, however it is clearly not been looked after for a long time and not just in the heat. Previously was a member here and the links feel now feels more like paying in the beaches.
The course has a great layout and potential to be a great course, but lacking on the upkeep at the moment.
Disappointing
I played here recently for the first time in ten years and was left disappointed.
Not a good start when the pro shop is shut and unable to sign in at 3pm. Especially when the lady behind the bar seemed particularly uninterested.
The course is okay, I'd argue the back 9 is slightly too long, especially the stretch of 10, 11 and 12 back to back. There are some good holes, 1, 4, 8, 9, 14, 15, 16 and 17 are all good tests.
However the big let down is the condition. We're now into June and in some places, the course is unacceptable. The greens on maybe half the holes are horrendous. There are also hundreds of rabbit holes on the fairways. Definitely ankle-breakers if you're not paying attention. I paid £15 and still felt a little robbed.
It's not on every hole but it's also more than a couple. Just screams of needing a bit of care because the potential is there.
Embarrassing state of course
I used to be a member here. Went back to reassure myself why I left. Disgraceful condition, greens with no grass and gorse overgrowing, bunkers unplayable with compacted old stoney sand and collapsed lips. Tee boxes uneven and bare and fairways full of rabbit holes. And yet no green staff to be seen..
Greens were the worst
Course layout was very good, the greens however hadn’t seen water in weeks, they were literally brown and dusty. Real shame as the course was very good apart from this.
Spoilt our round completely , won’t be returning until we’ve heard it’s been rectified .
Greens poor
All tees have been moved forward so shorter course and the 6th hole the green has been moved onto the fairway and just had a bit of white spray round it to mark it out was a real let down as played here a lot and was really let down this time.
Best course
I've played this course many times and will certainly be playing again
Great course
This is a great course for beginners or professionals
Wide fairways .
good distance on par 4 and par 5 holes to practice your swing
I will only play this course now
Its great have a go
Picturesque course
Nice course with some attractive holes..greens could have been in better condition but overall a very enjoyable round.
Avoid
Course been neglected for years. Don’t bother complaining, the owners aren’t interested. They’ll just take your money and ignore you.
Course neglected
Have been playing at this course off and on for several years and the greens were never great but the course was the worst I’ve seen it, the owners seem more interested in selling holiday homes than looking after the course which is a shame as I used to enjoy playing there but won’t be returning anytime soon.
Thoroughly good value at less than £15. Course relatively quiet, so able to go round at own pace. Some of the greens aren't the best, particularly around the fringes, but have improved considerably in the last year or so. Didn't use any facilities, so have been neutral on this.
Definitely be playing here again.
Long course
The course is quite a challenge for senior and high handicappers the back 9 is very long but overall a good day the weather was perfect l don't think I would like to play if the wind was blowing but would definitely like to play again in the summer, for the time of year the course was in very good condition hat's off to the greenkeepers many thanks for a pleasant round Derek.
Great golf
I have played at many courses but find this one of the best some hard some easy so you get a variety
Will be playing again very soon
Course Condition
The greens are burnt and lumpy in many places. The same goes for the sorry state of the tee boxes which are extremely hard. An electric drill would make a useful addition to your cart.
Some fairways in parts are just dirt. Lack of green staff is obvious.
Great course
This is a great course to play great fairways and great greens can't see me playing anywhere else
Value for money
The course was in an average condition, however paying £15 is definitely value for money in my opinion. The course is a good layout, we really enjoyed it.
The greens were dreadful, weeds on the greens and inconsistent cutting, you couldn't put I will never play here again
Course with potential
Course with loads of potential with a bit of investment and work. Great layout and sevral challenging holes. A good variation of length of holes. Fairways good and wide on many holes. Watch out for the gorse bushes!!! Greens in good condition overall but just a little slow and need to be a bit tighter cut. Addition of a map on the scorecard or the hole boards would be useful for visitors
