First 18 of the year
Was a good course for winter the greens were really good some areas around the fairways were boggy but it is winter will definitely return and look forward to a summer 18 holes
Course average and slow play
Played here with a mate on a Saturday morning. Didn’t get off to the best start when we were interrogated by a couple of members whether we had a tee time booked. Believe it or not we don’t just turn up hoping to get a game and so yes we had a tee time booked. After the 4 ball of members in front of us had a few more moans and muttered a few more comments we finally teed off. After a few holes the marshall told us there were 2 x four balls in front of us and was hoping we could get called through. No chance the members were going to do that. It was that slow we actually missed the 8th , 9th and 10th holes out so we could get round. All in all an average course spoilt by childish entitled members. I won’t be returning in a hurry.
De cent course and still playable after last weeks rain. Nice addition to the buggies was the course planner on them
Slow play
We didn't get to finish our round. The club kept putting people in front of us. People got lost and we was held up. Due to this we lost light and didn't complete the course. Very disappointed
Slow pace of play
Very slow payed for 18 holes and only played 9 3 hours for 9 holes not great
Corse conditions were terrible the trees need some work I won’t be back
Poor greens
The greens had been hollow milled and NO SAND AND SEED had been laid so the greens were terrible just full of holes. Totally ruined the days golf oh forgot to say the course let out a single player who by the looks of things had never played golf before on a midday tee time so just caused a back log of groups
Spoilt by very poor greens
Played today as a 4 ball we got stuck behind a single player in a midday tee time .I would not play here for at least a month the greens have been hollow milled but not sanded and seeded so the greens are just full of holes and are unplayable. We still had to pay full summer tee prices without warning about the condition of the greens VERY DISSATISFIED that no warning was given by the club when we booked in
First time around this course late Sept
On the whole a very nice challenging course. The greens are aerated for the winter conditions, making putting a little unpredictable. There were two days of heavy rain before I played it, but it was relatively dry. The bunkers were quite compact.
Calderfields review
Called in to Calderfields today, having last played it before the lock down.
I was charged £30, but no mention was made to me that all the greens had been hollow tinned and were really hard to putt on.
The bunkers looked to be in a poor state, although to be fair I only had to play out of one.
The holes I played were not in the best condition, and I walked back in after 11 holes because the course was in such a poor condition.
Greens in awful conditions
Greens we’re recently airated and also huge chunks missing from them, no prior warning
What’s happened
Played this course a 6 weeks ago and couldn’t fault it, returned and the course was in a pretty rough condition specially the greens I would all most say winter greens patches holes very poor, we are back here for a overnight stay in the log cabin’s hopefully they will sort it out soon, off course is very good
The most overpriced course I’ve ever played
I don’t normally do reviews but honestly I could not believe the state this course was in for £35 (same price as the majority of courses around). The fairways were liveable but once again for the money not up to a half decent standard, the Tee boxes had signs missing. The greens as you will see pictured were honestly the worst I’ve ever seen it nearly unplayable (I’ve seen £5 pitch & puts with better greens). In conclusion if this course was £15 I’d of thought okay not bad but still rough but at £35 this is honestly not even worth entertains unfortunately.
In need of TLC...has a municipal feel
Course was quiet, not many playing on a lovely day. Green so slow and a little patchy. Bunkers neglected, not been raked during the day, Trees line the fairways and boundaries which is nice but they have encroached and are in need of some pruning/management. Signposting around the course is not what is should be. Rough is deep in places but generally fair.
It's a parkland course that is generally flat with up and back fairways, some water and trees. The basics are there but the care and attention is not all it might be. It's rare for me to say this but I didn't really enjoy it.
Shabby and tired. Needs a good mowing!
Very dissapointing. I think the club needs to take a little of that wedding venue money and buy its greenkeeper a mower or two. Greens were awful. Slowest i have ever played and look like they hadn't been cut for weeks.
Better local courses for less green fees.
Firstly lovely summer's day, haven't played here for a while. Same problems as before, bunkers are terrible & quite a few greens were browned out. Not good value for money, lots of local courses that have lower green fees and are in better condition. Pace of play was good & overall an average place to play, what a shame. Good lay out if maintained.
Great standard
Haven’t been to the course in a while but the standard is still maintained. Even with the warm weather the greens were in as good a shape as they could be.
Everything else was to a high standard and hopefully be back soon
Enjoyable
A challenging course plenty of trees and water I would recommend a visit
Funny day
Very tricky but lovely course ! Second time playing calderfields now even in the rain its a good day out !!
We paid £12 each on GolfNow !! Absoloute steal for that course
The pro shop is huge and has a little table bg the counter with some cheap gear, nice golf t shirts from as cheap as £15 bargains on bargains
Great course
This place is great, only issues were the bunkers were pretty much all waterlogged
