Catterick Golf Club

Played Catterick on a stop over after not playing there for around 15 years.

Great value for money late in the afternoon and well worth the money.

Course was in good condition but I’d forgotten about the punishing long grass that eats golf balls.

Friendly and helpful staff and didn’t get to test the facilities because we were on our way to Silloth and had a long way to go still.

Well worth the detour.

Very rude man in the shop pointed out (after using various profanities to describe GolfNow) that “they don’t send bookings through to the course”. Told us to tee off when we want couldn’t really care less and couldn’t be arsed tell us when other people were booked on. Apparently if you book it’s a matter of just squeezing on wherever possible. Greens were 50% sand. Course layout was nice though it’s a shame the overall experienced was ruined.

Good course. A few blind holes and some of the rough could be shortened but overall good. The first 6 holes are hilly so charge your battery unless you like a physical challenge. Oh and watch them greens. They are superb and if you are putting for a birdie you could come away with a double bogey.

I have played around 12 courses through the winter but this course was the worst I have played . We played backend of March and the conditions were atrocious

Will not be playing again

This was fantastic value as a hot deal for £7.50 well worth double even though we played on a very windy day.Highly recommended the layout was great especially the elevated tees.

Although the course, including greens, was very wet and initial impressions on the first few holes was disappointing, the course suddenly blossomed into a very enjoyable game of golf. Interesting and challenging holes emerged and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Very warm welcome from the club pro before playing.
