Absolute gem of a course
Just moved to Derbyshire and playing a number of courses to decide on the one to join. Played this course for the first time and was mighty impressed. 1100 ft above sea level but resembles a links course. Undulating fairways that were like a carpet, lush and soft. I expected a hilly course but it really isn’t..Some stunning holes in terms of layout that require playing for position rather than blasting your way round. First four could be a problem for those with a slice, plays alongside a road. Greens are lovely, some are challenging and a tad slow. I shot a a few over par on a still calm day. Highly recommend. I will play again.
Great quirky course
If you’re looking for something a little different, Buxton & High Peak is well worth a visit. It’s a quirky course with rolling fairways, plenty of moguls, and some deceptively tricky greens that make for a really enjoyable test of golf.
The course was in excellent condition. The fairways were superb, and the greens were outstanding overall. A couple had recently undergone some maintenance, but that was the only minor exception – the rest were absolutely mint.
The welcome in the pro shop was warm and friendly, setting the tone for a great day. After the round, the food and service in the bar were excellent, with very reasonable prices too.
All in all, this was a fantastic golfing experience. A unique, well-maintained course with great facilities and hospitality. I’d highly recommend it and will definitely be back.
Always good
A little unsung hero course. in great condition as always greens were perfect. This course has a really variety of different holes always worth a visit.
Varied, pretty course with challenging par 3s
Buxton is in a pretty setting but I imagine it can feel quite exposed in bad weather. It undulates without being as steep as some Pennine courses. You can easily lose balls on the quarry holes 3-7 but the course opens out afterwards with some long par 4 and 5s. Greens have been in great condition on my three visits and it is very well maintained generally. It has a decent pro shop, with buggies and trolleys available to hire as well scoffed, snacks etc. I shall return and would definitely recommend the course.
Great course
Excellent greens Excellent fairways friendly course got on hot deal got a good price will play again shame club house was shut after round
Only 1 temp
With my own course in Sheffield on 18 temps. Me and my two brothers decided to play at Buxton & high peaks golf course. We couldn’t believe how dry and firm the greens was despite all the rain we have had. The fairways were also fairly dry and very playable. We enjoyed our round very much and will definitely be returning to play in the winter!
Quality course for the time of year
Great course for time of year was raining on and off for days before and during however the greens were still nicely firm great day out will be coming back
Great value for money
Had a great day at Buxton high peaks, full 18 holes on a great course in great condition end of November and not a bit of mud to be seen.
Stayed for a drink and food which was lovely and great service.
Really enjoyable day all round and great value for money 👍
First time playing Buxton high peak got to say really impressed greens in very good condition as was the fairways considering the amount of rain recently some tricky holes great views as well nice fella in the pro shop would definitely play here again ⛳️👍🏻
