Golfer Reviews
Very impressive course with a variety of challenges. However once you complete your round there is no incentive to use the club catering facilities. There is no advertising, signs or notices
offering food or drink to entice players into the club. This must result in loss of revenue.
The membership only offers 7 days. I only play weekdays and would definitely join if a 5 day
deal was available. Finally you cannot pay the annual membership fee upfront but have to
pay monthly by direct debit ! I am sure like myself many players would pay upfront rather than
direct debit.
Really bad condition
Played this course on 5/6/23
Course is in a terrible condition.
Tee boxes bald or like playing off a school field
Greens in a unplayable condition with crack, chunks of grass missing or bald.
Trees all over grown.
Would not return.
Crookhill
Used to be a member here as closest course to where I live. Played Sunday for the first time since June 2021 and couldn’t believe how down hill the course had become. Tee boxes terrible, greens patchy and shocking, fairway’s terrible. Not worth visiting even on a cheap £15 deal,
Indifferent - muddy & sticky.
Now on Winter tees- November 2022. 2 Winter greens - the 11th was pants and worse than playing on the fairway- boy did the ball swerve on the long grass here- very poor.
The winter tees seem new compared to last time I played in Winter, so fair play on these.
Some of the fairways had sticky messy mud on them- not helped with the 2 showers we encountered. The greens were reasonable but not the winter ones!
Pace of play was good until catching up 3 mixed 4balls.
Would play again but only in Summer.
Cancelled round
Because of the weather conditions being too bad to play we had to cancel.I don’t know how to claim a refund, can you help ?
Nice day
It’s always nice right now Crookhill friendly staff courses in pretty good condition for time of year looks like it’s had lot of hard work done
Unplayable Weather
Our game was cancelled through bad weather.can you tell me how I can get a refund
Not up to usual standards
Played the course several times before but never in summer. Walking up to the first green, there were massive bald spots, not sure if this is from the recent dry spell. But then when on the greens there were holes everywhere, as if it had been dug up.
Played the course before in the winter and was in much better condition,
Not sure what’s happened but wouldn’t be in a hurry to return.
Fore!!
This was a sound we heard on a regular basis on our round. As the fairways run parallel to each other on the front 9 you do have to keep your eyes and ears alert. There are two greens only separated by a tee and it would be good to look at protection for those on the tee.
Other than that the course offers plenty of challenge and there are a large number of dog leg holes and holes where you cannot see the green from the tee. Many of the par 3s are short and provide an excellent opportunity to consolidate your score. The majority of the greens are easily reachable in regulation without having to hit a very long tee shot.
I really like the course and the price is so reasonable. The tees were a bit worn and there were some holes with a lot of debris on them. It would be good if the club could look at ensuring this is addressed each morning.
I shall return.
