I was presently surprised. Greens in good condition and drainage clearly improved lost a couple of balls in the rough but enjoyed my round despite that. Nice pint of Guinness at the 19th.

Great first game back

The course was in excellent condition for our first back back since lockdown ended. The only downside to this course is there's 3 holes (6, 7, 8 I believe) that all run parallel and several people end up on the wrong fairways so it feels very busy and cramped.

Last week we had booked to go here and we turned up and it was closed! Stupid me, booked again for this weekend, get there, AGAIN for the SECOND TIME..... CLOSED. This wants taking off golf now, absolute joke.

10 on a par 3... that’s how I get this morning when I pulled up to pick my buddy up, to find out via Facebook at 8.15am that the course was closed... we were supposed to Tee off at 9.20am... would have been a wasted 50 minutes round drive!

No email, No call, Nothing. Had to find out via Facebook and that only happened on the off chance due to looking for course pictures!

Really not impressed at all... all 3 of us had booked the day off from work, fortunately we managed to find golf else where in time for sunset, but that was a struggle and more of an inconvenience.

As with most council owned courses the attention yo detail is not great. Scruffy tee boxes and trees not trimmed over thd years therefore some are massive with big overhangs making tee shots difficult. Good layout but could do much more with it.
