The land that now provides a home to Quarry Golf Course was formerly the abandoned Alamo Cement plant. Keith Foster converted this unique location into a challenging layout with a links-style front nine and a back nine that plays entirely through an abandoned rock quarry with walls over a 100 feet tall on three sides. The first half of the golf course features plays through open fields of rolling hills with native grasses and a near absence of trees. Creeks and streams come into play on six holes of the front nine. The quarry pit on the back nine is truly the most unique feature on the golf course. Quarry Golf Course's most dramatic hole is the 17th, which requires a tee shot over a deep ravine that is framed by a 40-foot waterfall.

Played same day of aeration

No issue with the greens as I was made aware of morning aeration at the course. However the bunkers had not been raked. We were the first tee time so it was obvious none of the bunkers had been raked from the prior day’s play.

Love The Quarry

The back nine sits inside a rock quarry in the ground. Good scenic views. Very little wind down there, fast greens, well conditioned. Very much enjoyed this course and highly recommend.

Good but lacking

Played on a Friday around noon, so I thought being a none weekend plus middle of the heat I'd beat the rush. Pace of play was not great. Started as a twosome, and teed off 10 minutes late because the group in front was so slow. They let us through on the 4th after they were nearly two holes behind the group in front. Caught another twosome on the 8th tee box that we were able to join. Then proceeded to wait 5-10 minutes from the 9th hole on for nearly every shot. Apart from that, it seemed like they over watered around the greens and tee boxes. Keep in mind at noon and later, I still had a couple shots that landed just off the green that got plugged in the mud. While some tee boxes I had to tee off a club or so behind there tees since I didn't want to slip on a tee shot. Sand traps had nice sand, but too much of it in 2 of 3 I landed in. Ball didn't plug like a fried egg, just buried in. Lastly for a course that charges the amount they do you'd hope they'd have a full warm up/ practice facility. The range is irons only and the chipping green was covered in sand.

First time playing this course and from the minute getting there till the time I left staff was amazing and so helpful and friendly. Got paired up with a couple of members which was very helpful from not knowing all the hazards. Course conditions were great. Started on #10 and the view and scenery of this 9 is so amazing. The course is beautiful zero complaints had a great time and will most definitely be back.
