The land that now provides a home to Quarry Golf Course was formerly the abandoned Alamo Cement plant. Keith Foster converted this unique location into a challenging layout with a links-style front nine and a back nine that plays entirely through an abandoned rock quarry with walls over a 100 feet tall on three sides. The first half of the golf course features plays through open fields of rolling hills with native grasses and a near absence of trees. Creeks and streams come into play on six holes of the front nine. The quarry pit on the back nine is truly the most unique feature on the golf course. Quarry Golf Course's most dramatic hole is the 17th, which requires a tee shot over a deep ravine that is framed by a 40-foot waterfall.

Great course, layout and scenery!!!

Oh whoa!! Had so much fun playing this course and met three very nice gentlemen that I had the pleasure of being grouped with. We had so much fun together and played an exceptional round of golf, so much so, we then had lunch together at the club house and the food was tasty !

Course Maintenance

Swear the maintenance fellow followed us all the way up to hole 8! The guy operated a trailer pulled blower machine and every shot was surrounded by the noise from the noise of his machine. Couldn’t relax! I understand maintenance has to be a priority, but guest comfort should be just as important. Maybe he could’ve stayed a pace behind us instead of, right there, with us? Overall beautiful course with a challenging layout. It’s the little things that count....

Only if you can afford it.

I only play here when I can find a good deal on GolfNow. Regular rates are $100+, and I think it's overpriced. For those rates, there are better courses to spend your money on. (That's my personal preference)

If you can afford it, then I do recommend it. Of all the times I've played there, the course has been in good condition. The pace of play was always good... but then again, I never played during peak times.

Course Layout

Front and back nine are very different. The back being the more difficult quarry holes. Both highly enjoyable.

#17 is my favorite. I played the Championship tees which required a 250 yard carry over the canyon wall with a stiff headwind. Great example of the mix of shot making required, with some relatively easy and some more challenging.

Great Course, Too Crowded

Played this course a few times. Played yesterday and it was too crowded. No carts available for 20 minutes, slow place of play. Played this morning (7:20 am) and had to quit after nine (2nd time) due to management overbooking and 3 groups on 10th tee box when we pulled up after nine. Like the course but done with it. Understand financial needs but customer happiness just as important in my opinion.

Quarry

Great time at the Quarry. Professional staff. Great price with GolfNow. Pace of play was excellent. Played with a great group of guys from out of town. The 17th Hole is my favorite. The Quarry is in my top five Texas courses to play. Boot Ranch and The Rawls are two of my favorite.

17th Hole

New to San Antonio. Great layout. Starter let me play as a single. The golfers were very polite and courteous as a whole. The course was in great shape. The staff was very professional. My only beef was that range balls were not included. I would recommend this course.

Not a hundred dollar course by a long shot!

While the layout of the course is unique and cool to play, it is not a course worthy of the hundred dollar price tag. This course should be a $50-$60 max green fee. The course that Day had an outing which started at 1:30pm that day andvour tee time was at 8:20. We never saw a beverage cart the entire round! Our round was 4 hours and 15 minutes, which I thought was great, but for the course to forget about their regular customers that day due to an outing showed poorly in my opinion. Sorry, not worth the money. Go play La Canter’s courses instead

Great Potential!!!

Our first time playing there. In all honesty, I was expecting a course in better condition versus what we experienced. Being from the north, I do not know if this area experienced tough weather that has growth of grass behind or not. The greens had some weed in them which made putting difficult. The course layout is awesome and the people were extremely friendly. I will give this place a shot again the next time we are in the area!!!

Great track!

Staff were very accommodating. The front nine had some interesting holes, but the back nine in the quarry was very exciting. From the views, to the nice fairways and greens, to the red-tailed hawk working the quarry, we had a great time. Thanks.

Back 9 Beauty

Had 1 PM Hot Deal tee time but there was a tournament scheduled at noon so pace of play was terrible. Had to wait 5-10 mins. on every tee box. That made for a 5 1/2 hr round. Beautiful day so we still enjoyed the course. The back 9 is stunningly laid out. Swirling winds and natural obstacles made for an interesting round. Would play again!

Perfect Day to Play Golf

This was a great day to play golf. A little overcast in the morning and the sun popped out as the round progressed. The course is in great condition and coming out of it's winter conditions. Had a great time with friends and the super good deal on GolfNow was the icing on the cake.

Always in great shape

Had a chance to play a weekday round. Pace was excellent. Overall course condition was very good. Fairways growing in from Winter dormancy, greens overall rolled true. Definitely worth playing when the weather is not too hot.
