Great course - hidden gem
Played this course for the first time even though I only live 20 mins away . Usually play Tapton but this course blows that one away . Really impressed and will only get better in summer
Great course and friendly staff.
Great course for all skill levels. Some difficult shots to pull off but leaves you feeling satisfied.
Only gripe is playing behind a four ball consisting of people unwilling to let smaller group through. They must have been playing for a green jacket with how long it took to clear a green.
Very highly reccomended
Was a bit sceptical when booking due to the drainage in the past and had a lot of rain again recently but the conditions of the course were more than better than expected.
Will be playing again very soon.
Soggy and slow
Course was very very soggy
Groups in front were slow considering the time of day
Amazing value hidden gem
amazing value for money !!
Good course in good condition,
Really good facilities
Driving range is decent and we even managed to sneak out earky !!
Only 2 little issues …wifi is only available for members but the reception in the club house is terrible !
No food available at 1.30,on a Friday lunch time and the course was busy
All in all brill though 👍
Can't complain for the price.
First time playing here, got warned before hand that I may need a spare pair of trousers if it's wet 🤣 fortunately for the time of year the ground was pretty solid and not too many unplayable areas, alot of the bunkers were unplayable but that's the case at alot of places this time of year. Overall I enjoyed the course its a course where a good score is definitely achievable. Nice layout although not many Wow holes. It took myself and one walker 4.5 hours to get around which is one of the longest rounds I've ever played as a single, all because a 4 ball in front wouldn't let me play through, even though they had plenty of opportunity,I understand that's not the Clubs fault.
Overall for £15 it was a nice course, I'd play here again.
South Chesterfield Golf Club
Course was very muddy, never got held up, 2nd was undergoing drainage work so was out of play. We didn’t enjoy it. Bar does not do food later in the day so that’s disappointing. Liked the pro shop. With a good selection in stock. Liked the driving range. Putting practice green is ok.
Grassmoor
Cracking course great price only down side bit wet on the day so no roll on ball but greens very receptive.
Wet but enjoyable.
Nice morning of golf, expected it to be wet but the course held up ok. Pick and place this time of year and plugged shots into greens made it interesting. Greens ran slow with some surface water at times but seemed to run fairly true without bobbles. I assume the tee boxes will go to winter tees soon. Very enjoyable and will be coming back regularly. Highly recommend in the warmer months but still a nice round in colder months.
(A very wet) South Chesterfield Golf Club
The course really shouldn't have been open on the day – it was soaking wet and dangerously slippy on most holes. To be fair, they did offer a refund, but I decided not to take it as we had navigated 9 holes of the 18 we paid for at least. The course has matured nicely over the years, and on a dry (course) day it's nice to play, and good value, albeit quite busy at times. The facilities are excellent, including the clubhouse and driving range.
Very wet in places
Course all good, a bit wet & boggy in places not a winter golf course 👍
Brilliant value for money
Played here for £22 on a Saturday and was expecting something more akin to a council course, but this course was brilliant. A bit boggy and fairways slightly long due to heavy rain earlier in the week, but the greens were excellent. A good challenge and a lovely course layout made for a good day of golf, will definitely be going back.
