South Chesterfield Golf Club (previously known as Grassmoor Golf Centre) was established in 1992. Buggy and trolley hire are available. Excellent bar and restuarant facilities, open daily 8am to 10pm.Visitors, Societies and group bookings very welcome 7 days a week. Well stocked discount golf shop and club repairs. Golf lessons available with Snr. Professional, Gary Hagues.
Heathland course incorporating water hazards and of club: testing greens. 18 hole golf course, 5982 yards, SSS 70. 26 bay floodlit driving range and practice putting area.

Brilliant course
Everything about Chesterfield golf course is excellent
A Cold Stop
Went to visit SCGC on Saturday in the way down to Leicester, found a hot deal and for £9 it was hard to say no. Arrived and the staff were very helpful, went through all the conditions of play etc. Thoroughly impressed with the conditions of the greens for early December, bit wet underfoot on some of the fairways but not unexpected.
Course layout is fantastic with some challenging holes, will definitely be visiting again when it is somewhere nearer double digits!
Great staff course playing very well for time of year
Choose course as a 1/2 way point between friends . It was great value for money. Excellent staff and great playing conditions for time of year. Would use again. Thanks
A pleasure
We tend to play several different courses in the area and this one has become my favourite. I particularly like the fact you only tend to lose a ball to a really errant shot. Great variety of holes and sensible price for visitors. All round gem.
Tuesday golf
Really enjoyed our round of golf at South Chesterfield, (as we always do). One slight issue was the state of the greens. They had been treated with sand, but rather too much and in places it had not been brushed over sufficiently.
Good experience
Interesting layout, tricky water hazards. Greens had been tined so hard to read but they were true enough. Course busy (Saturday) but got round in just under 4 hours. Will go back.
Good course to play
It was good to play this course which has some interesting holes.
Greens were good. However fairways were dry due to recent dry few weeks.
Beware when crossing the first fairway. Balls from the driving range can reach you.
Not the best, but not the worst course
First of all, the greens are immaculate. Some pitch marks around from previous groups, but nothing SCGC can do about that. My biggest issue with this course is the fact it looks ‘unfinished’. On a lot of holes, there are piles of soil and stones or what I’m assuming will be bunkers that are just dug out of the ground and not filled. The water hazards have very little water in and have exposed pipes that don’t look great. The course is very hilly but poses a good challenge. If the course can be finished off and these untidy parts sorted, it will be a really good course for the value. Worth a round.
