Haigh hall
Very boggy and muddy in places over played and not looked after
Good coarse
Good all round coarse, plenty of challenges for every level of golfer
what a great course
Hidden away in a country park, this gem of a course reveals great hole after great hole, Challenges all the way through the 18 holes. Stunning views too.
The course itself looks very nice but the greens where not very good, very bobbly and weeds in them and the bunkers had lots of gravel and even rocks in them.
Great course greens a mess
I have played this course a number of times and always been impressed, however today all the greens resembled bunkers! Just sand and very little grass, if I’d known this I would not have booked it! I’m sure the course will be back to forma glory and I will play there again I’m sure
Haigh Hall
Course in great condition would play again, bunkers still not playable due to Covid,, Greens were good but full of pitch marks which you normally find at a public course other than that it was a great day
Very scenic
Pretty course, rating holes, well kept greens and bunkers.
Let Down
Played this local course for years on and off not played for about 3 years for one reason and another. Every time I play I just feel like what could of been by it, beautiful location, interesting, challenging holes let down by poor course maintenance. I know it’s a council run course but still it could be a real gem if cared for. Tee boxes and greens well below average even for a municipal, fairways good to be fair, pace of play slow but expected with municipal. Will play again but not for quite some time, shame.
Torrential rain
Didn’t bother turning up because I didn’t want to get struck by lightning
But GN still got there money
Great value for money
Very good course with lots of thinking holes and a good challenge. Only downside is the sand in the bunkers isn’t the best.
Very impressed
This is a smashing course, with lots of very interesting and enjoyable holes. Plenty of hazards and obstacles to catch you out. A couple of negatives, could to with some extra sand in some of the bunkers, and some of the greens were not as good as they could and should have been. But don’t be put of this, this is a municipale course so you can’t expect outstanding, but still very enjoyable and challenging course
Opening Hours unclear and contact non existent
I booked a 18:30 tee time but the grounds car park closes at 19:30 and is locked for the evening. I tried to call but there was no answer and I buzzed the help button on the car park numerous times to check where I should park as I was going to play golf.
I only paid £9 so I left and went to Westhoughton Golf Club. Paid more but has a great round of golf, on a course in good condition and that allows you to get as many holes in as you can playing twilight golf.
To take tee bookings at 18:30 and say the course closes at 19:00 is scandalous. I won’t go back as there’s a lot of courses in the area and they don’t mess you about like this
