Excellent Course
Superb challenge of a course.
Very well kept. Superb greens. Spectacular scenery.
Enjoyable course
Really nice course, but make sure you are ready for some exercise! Lots of hills to climb.
One recommendation would be to include a map on the course card and a map of each hole at each tee. We played the 16th to the 18th green because they were so close together and the 16th tee was not visible from the tee.
But great value for money and good fun.
Golf as it should be - challenging and fair
Course is quite hilly but was quiet when we played. Heaton park was at its immaculate best. Some extremely challenging holes - especially the par 3's on the back 9. Amazing value for money and highly recommended.
Some views are quite breathtaking and there is plenty of wildlife around the park. Definitely a challenging course but rewarding at the same time.
Always enjoyable
Its always a good round at Heaton Park, the sun was out and it was a great day to play. The course is a challenge but enjoyable with some interesting holes. I think the good weather had brought everyone out as I was stuck behind two 4 balls. Will defo play there again.
Demanding
The course has a lot of holes were you have a blind tee shot so a score card is necessary. The course was in brilliant condition for April, really well looked after. Some brilliant holes. Looking at the length of the course, don't be disheartened they were brilliant. Didn't really have the best round but loved it. Got a municipal course outstanding
Heaton park
First time I have played the course and it exceeded my expectations for a municipal golf course
Gem of a course with a hike and a half!
This course is a gem, some great holes. Considering the recent weather it was in outstanding condition. No doubt I would have given it 5 stars if I had played in the summer. Very hilly course! You know you have played a hard walking course. Some of the holes are really tiring. However it makes every shot interestingly different. You have to be fit to play the course though. Had great time, fully recommended! £10 an absolute steal!
When Municipal meets Top Private Club
You would not believe this is a municipal!
Challenging undulating course, 2 signature holes at 11th and 15th. Course is in fantastic condition given recent downpours.
Needed a 'goto' course outside my own club (particularly in winter when I want to play of the deck and be challenged) - and at last found it on my own doorstep!
CHILLY GOLF
COURSE IN EXCELLANT CONDITION FOR NOVEMBER DRAINS WELL GREENS EXCELLANT , GREAT VALUE AND GOOD CHALLENAGE UP AND DOWN AND FAIRWAYS FALLING AWAY TO LEFT AND RIGHT
Great condition given the conditions
I booked the slot less than hour before the time despite a forecast of rain.
I have played this course once before but not for six months. A few tees were off mats and others were not but that's understandable given the amout of rain that it had put down the previous week.
The fairways, other than the odd soggy patch, were in surprisingly good condition. The greens were also in very good condition. Very slow, but again, perfectly understandable.
The only criticism I had was that the holes could do with a map as one hole in particular is a sharp right handed dog leg. I didn't know this so I hit probably the best drive of the round straight down the middle - 220 yards odd target which cost me a 9.
Overall, very impressed again.
Final score = +13
If you like hills, blind tee and second shots...
If you like hills, blind tee and bilnd second shots and guessing the right fairway to play, you'll love playing here. The greens can only be seen from the tee on 3 holes Heavily sanded greens mean they are playable after the heaviest of rain but the sand does hold the ball up and a firm rap is required. The course would benefit hugely from hole illustrations at each tee. The 15th fairway is very close to the 16th 17th and 18th and there is no clue which direction to play the second shot. Confusing and annoying. You will need to keep the ball on the fairway as the Heather and thick rough are punishing. Take plenty of golf balls, a few energy bars and some krsmpons.
will keep you fit
great venue, never a bad day for this course a true test of golf
simply top draw 5 star venue
I have never seen this course in the superb condition it is at present hats off to the greens staff they are making this a class golf course
