Hexham never fails
For the time of year it was in great condition. Greens excellent for october .and all playing origional summer greens. Worth every penny .will be back soon.
Lovely day out
Booked at very short notice so I was out in the middle of the Monthly Medal. That didn't make any difference though. No pressure from the group behind, nothing but smiles from fellow golfers.
Three ball in front asked if I would like to join with them.
Lovely layout, couple of blind tee shots, couple of blind shots to greens.
Course was in very good condition, greens firm and pretty fast.
Overall a great experience and if I get the chance to play the course again I will.

Tuesday trip
The course was in tremendous condition, the greens were probably the fastest inland greens I have played.
The layout was great and certainly quite a few unusual holes to play.
My one frustration, which the club can't be held responsible for, was the pairing behind me who were very impatient. They were ignorant about the fact there groups ahead of me and I was unable to go any quicker.
Still enjoyed my day though
One of best courses in North East
With winter golf in UK you have to accept some disruption if you are going to play, mats, winter greens etc. Quite a few mats to play off but only two winter greens. Having said that always worth playing, well stocked pro shop, indoor lessons with golf simulation, club fitting, excellent Pro and shop staff. Three short game practice areas, one an old walled garden and 2 very good quality nets if you want to get the big dog out & big putting green. Course layout is good with every hole giving you a challenge. Greens through most of spring, summer very good and quick. Course plays best when bit of moisture in ground and generally immaculate. Great clubhouse with excellent food n drink on offer. Definitely worth a visit. Played many times.
Bad winter greens
Nice course but £25 each for winter tees and greens was a bit to much as we meet members around the course and said we should have only payed £15. Would go back but not on winter greens and not for £25. Bad from club part to charge £25 but that’s Hexham for you
Greens excellent
The coarse is in great condition for the time of year & the lay out is quite challenging. The greens were firm & fast & definitely play it again
Hexham great parkland
Arrived and was greeted by friendly staff .course was in great condition .and dry considering the down pour 2 days before .great value for money.
Great parkland course
Lovely parkland course on the outskirts of Hexham. Course is nicely maintained with although fairways dryer after the summer months. Greens and tee boxes in great condition. Course played well. Buggies, electric hand carts and regular handcarts available for rent. Clubhouse is an Impressive stone building. Nice bar and terrace outside.
Rough Around The Edges
Used to be a member a decade ago, and was really looking forward to playing Hexham once again.
However, the tee boxes are dead/ bare, and the greens are completely unreceptive to the ball. Albeit very quick, but unable to stop the ball sensibly - not good. 50 yard wedge shots were bouncing 50ft or so off the green, way too hard.
Chipping areas a bit scruffy too, but probably due to how busy the course is.
Amazing greens
Course was in amazing condition, greens were hard to stop a ball on but the best to putt on. I’d struggle to find a bad word to say about the course, pint of Guinness was nice afterwards as well
Hexham golf
Great place and course staff were friendly as were other members...
There was a competition on prior to us so pace was a little frustrating..
Great layout however som tee boxes were in firing line from previous holes ( bit close)
Course a little wet but still playable
A good course and good food and service after round.
Hexham 24/10/2021
Mature parkland course with a challenging layout including significant changes in elevation in a very picturesque tree lined location including a club house and pro-shop facilities that are second to none. However, sadly I’m unable to award more than 3 stars for our visit for the following reasons: very slow play [our round took 4 hours to complete], inconsistent speed of some greens [some of which were very slow], some badly drained fairways necessitating the use of plastic mats, raised winter tee boxes that are too small & aren’t of appropriate quality for the course and areas excessively covered in autumn leaf fall which made locating golf balls very difficult on some holes. Our group unanimously agreed that we would gladly return when conditions are hopefully improved in the summer months but won’t be hurrying back in the near future.
