Greens absolutely awful
Played a twilight round after work, 2ball handicap of 7 & 11 and members of Tenby golf club. Not sure what the greenkeepers do with the greens but it felt like a pitch and putt greens, some of the worst I’ve ever played on. Course is laid out well with almost every hole tree lined and blind shots of your in the semi. Good course to learn on or if your out for a social with the lads. Cannot get over how bad the greens are wouldn’t ever play again.
Great course
Had a fantastic day at launceston apart from something in the carpark puncturing my tyre but cest la vie... the course was is great condition and it is a challenging place to play. The course pro was friendly and helpful and I've ended up booking a lesson with him... so will be back as soon as I get my tyre changed lol
Friendly and beautiful
What a beautiful course. Can’t wait to play it again, would probably wait until summer time though. Lovely layout with some amazing holes and the greens that were in play were very good. Few negatives but only due to time of year. Course was close to marshland in places and 50% of greens were temporary greens, some too small. Overall though would definitely visit again.
Real friendly and good club well established club
On a very wet October week this course was still in top shape for the time of year. There are some really good golf holes making use of the natural terrain and it is a course were on some holes position off the tee is more important than length. There are also some spectacular views over the moors. When we arrived as a 2 ball we were following a members 4 ball and did well to keep up, we where round in 3.5 hours. In all an excellently presented and established park land golf course.
After the round we went into the club house and whilst the food was not in the excellent category it was adequate and the staff friendly and the club secretary happy to have a chat with us.
Launceston golf course
Nicely laid out course drainage very poor avoid if wet lovely summer course but greens and fairways waterlogged only managed 10 holes
Lush and well kept.
Lovely lush parkland course showing no signs of summer scorching even though its August! Only downside to this is the greens were a little slow. Relatively flat with just a few rises and drops to contend with and no cross fairway slopes!
A couple of tight drives and few doglegs required caution off the tee but for me the toughest tee shot was the par 3 9th. Although only 160yards the trees on the left require a laser straight drive or a draw to find the green and my natural fade was brutally punished with a lost ball.
But its a course I would recommend so long as you avoid the seniors competition days or you may be in for a long round.
From arrival to departure, smooth and relaxed.
All staff and members were very friendly and helpfull.
The course played long, as it was wet and had been raining the night before.
Both of us enjoyed the whole experience and are planning a return soon
Thanks LGC
Really nice parkland course
Well established, in very good condition, course was quiet - pretty much had it to ourselves. Challenging course, plays quite long, but entirely fair
Good day out
Very good well presented course enjoyed the banter with local players very enjoyable
Very welcoming.
Very interesting and varied course in excellent condition. Play was pretty quick even though we followed the members medal competition. Had the occasional pleasant chat with the group in front but never pressed from the group behind. One of the members bought us a drink back at the 19th. Lovely day, thank you Launceston GC, we will be back again.
Excellent course and friendly staff, will definitely play there again next time we are in the area.
a great course
Superb condition for the time of year, a great layout. Would recommend this course. My favourite parkland course in Cornwall.
