Members not welcome visitors
Played 7.15am still dark at the time. So as most people would do we started on the 1st. Wow big mistake as we should of started on the 10th and boy Members let’s us know but not in a nice way. All they needed to do was put a sign on 1st to say start from the 10th but was there. Oh no. On the 17th a member attract one of our players saying you should use temp tees. Didn’t even see a temp tee. When shown it was 100 yards after the ladies tee. So sorry just really think members let course down. Sorry will not return
Thanks
Wayne
Good course BUT
Very friendly staff
Interesting course
Will definitely go again
BUT DON'T EAT THERE
MY MEAL RUINED MY DAY
Lovely course
Great course in great condition. Held up massively by very slow play due to an over 65’s competition. Staggered tee times...unsure why they didn’t have them all at once instead of in between ‘normal golfers’. Massively held up play to the point it was over 5 hours for the round (2-Ball)...!!!!!
Lovely, challenging course
The old part of the course (1-8, 16-18) are wonderful golf holes, the new holes on the other side of the road are nice, but seem young and not quite as interesting. All in all it's a great venue with friendly staff and good amenities.
Wonderful
The course is set in stunning woodland & is in great condition, the pace of play was a little slow (4.5 hours) but still enjoyed it.
Fabulous course!
Always an absolute pleasure to play lingdale. The course is always in good condition and winds it's way through some of the best countryside Leicestershire has to offer.
Sunny Friday afternoon
Played the course the day before captains day.
What else can you say?
Everything in top condition ready for the Saturday.
Nice food afterwards in the bar too.
Well worth playing if you get the chance and always bargains in the pro shop.
Lingdale
Awesome course, for saying how much rain that's been had the last few days, even tempted to sort a membership out!!
Beautiful setting
Played here a number of times now and it is always in tip top condition.
Great greens and the course always keeps you thinking.
Beautiful course
Excellent practice facilities to warm up on and a well stocked pro shop. The course itself was very well kept. There was some very picturesque holes, offering excellent views of Leicestershire. Challenging course, but definitely worth losing a few balls for!
Awful greens
We were not told by the professional the greens had been hollow tyned a few days before. Green we're just awful and bumpy. More annoyingly the tees were 50 to 100 ahead of the regular tees spoiling what would be excellent holes. I've used tee off times many times and have always been really pleased. This time it was utterly disappointing.
Worth a try
This is a course I have always wanted to try so maybe I was building it up to be something greater than it is. The course itself is decent enough, I found the front 9 to be more unique than the back 9, I'm also not a fan of crossing over a fast road to play half the holes. What I found frustrating was the slow play and attitude of some of the member players. I understand they pay their membership fee and feel that they have a right to 'own the place', however at other courses I have been made to feel more welcome and as such enjoyed the round more. There were a lot of bins around the course, shelter in case of rain and the air machine at the 18th to clean dirty trolley wheels was nice. It is definitely worth a try if you enjoy playing different courses but it is nothing special and I wouldn't consider it to be a premium course.
beware of the hidden ball chute !!!!!!
This is a great course, greens in great nick. It is let down however by a rather 'frosty' club pro. Who failed to mention the fact that a ballchute system was in operation. If it was not for a couple of friendly members who alerted us to the ballchute (which is hidden in a hedge at the first tee !!) don't know what time we would have teed off.
secret gem
Had the pleasure of playing Lingdale today, what a gem, one of the prettiest courses I have played in some time, great mixture of holes, including variation in length, degree of difficulty and change of direction, fairways and greens were excellent, difficukt to comment on bunkers, I had a day without visiting the beach and it was raining quite heavily, which always compacts the sand. doglegs, uphill downhill this course has something for everyone, thoroughly recommended.
