Mapperley Golf Club

It was fairly wet around the courses we usually play so we decided to play Mapperley - what a great choice! Beautiful course, not wet at all, and lovely members and staff. Will be playing again soon!

First time at this course, what a challenge!! The views and scenery are beautiful! Played the course with a friend both HC between 22-24 and it was probably the most challenging course I’ve played. A lot of hills, narrow fairways. Really good course which needs a lot of focus on shots. Conditions were very tough with the time of year and frozen greens. I can imagine in the summer where the ball doesn’t bounce off the solid green this would be an incredible challenge to play. Definitely recommend giving this course a go to really push your ability, I think as someone who has only been playing golf for around 5 months if I were to play this as a my first course it would be a very daunting task but as I am playing regular golf it was enjoyable and I will definitely be going back!

Not my first time playing here so I know this isn’t the norm. My round , like a few other golfers there, was ruined by a 5 ball seriously impacting on the speed of play. A couple of members who were playing behind me were very helpful over the situation and the club shop staff were very polite and understanding but play was so slow that it ruined the round for me and I gave up after the front 9.

Not the longest of courses but it protects itself with undulating fairways and shot shaping is a must. Some lovely views along the way.

Really Enjoyed my play. Haven't stoped talking about it with mates. Planing an annual tournament next Aug, hopefully

Awesome course with so many hills it must beat Rome. Greens are great, fairways on the day were so fast and overall a great course to play (although you might need oxygen for some of the hills). It's a great work out for the legs but very enjoyable, we will return.

Well on my day off the weather was glorious so I had a quick look on GolfNow and saw a great deal on a round at Mapperley so booked it . The weather was stunning and this lovely course in it’s beautiful setting is well worth a visit. The course was immaculate just wish I could say the same about my golf.

The course is very hilly but nice so be prepared for tired legs. The greens are very fast as well.

On arrival, the pro gave great advise and was really friendly. The course is immaculate and a great challenge for intermediate to pro players a like. We really enjoyed our round and would recommend this course, excellent…

Beautiful scenery, friendly welcome and some really interesting holes. The first par 3 at 118 yards is one of the easiest holes you will ever play.

The front 9 are very hilly indeed, a real slog if you are not that fit, would need a buggy. Some small patches of the course were under repair. Greens very good. A pleasant experience over all.

Good course layout and sinage. greens were smooth and well prepared. Staff were accomodating in putting me out on back 9 first to avoid course comp.

Throughly enjoyed the round , some lovely holes and great scenery from some of the highest points in Nottingham. Will be going back again in the near future . Great bar for after with TV’s ,friendly staff and good choice of drinks.

I have played this course twice now. Absolute pleasure to play, great looking holes with great greens. Will come back again.

After days of rain, the hilly course held up well with 18 greens in play (only one hole out but replaced with another full hole). Many tees were off mats but these were in good nick and had tee holes to use. Greens were decent for the time of year and fairways were also good when we hit them. The four ball in front played at a good pace but no offer to let any quicker golfers through - probably delaying our finish by 45 mins. Club pro was very helpful and a nice chap and he allowed us to tee early which softened the lack of being let through. The course is a good test due to being fairly tight, undulating lies and stance and I’d recommend a trolley if you aren’t fit.

Poor weather, but the course was still in good condition and enjoyable to play. Staff very friendly and helpful for a first time visitor.
