Lovely walk round & a good challenge

Good value for money at £30. An interesting course that keeps you on your toes throughout. Be sure to manage the sloping fairways off the tee. Greens were in better condition than other courses in April and were tricky to read. Special mention for the catering, we had a lovely burger & chicken wrap after the round that were both fab!

Nice Track - Tricky and Tough (if you're not straight)

Despite the less-than-ideal weather, we had a great time playing this course. The layout is pleasingly undulating, providing a challenging but enjoyable experience. Some of the tricky holes really test your skills, while the par 5s were absolutely fantastic—definitely a highlight of the course!

The weather had clearly taken its toll in some areas, with a few spots on the course showing signs of wear, and the bunkers were a bit washed out. That said, the course staff seemed to be working hard to maintain and improve the conditions, which is always great to see.

Even with these minor drawbacks, the overall design and feel of the course more than made up for it. Looking forward to see how great it will be to play here in better weather. Looking forward to booking another round soon to experience this gem at its best!

Wow, what a gem of a course.

Its snowing in Sheffield and the missus gave me a pass so we had to go further afield for a knock and saw this offer on Golf Now. After reading a couple of reviews it seemed worth the 50 minute drive and I'm so glad we did it. The Pro was very welcoming and explained as much as he could ref direction of holes and getting around which helped. The first is down hill and undulating and then straight back up for the second, I'm normally not a fan oh holes like the second but the layout and distance made it playable. To be fair due to the layout of the course there were a few uphill holes but were decent and all reachable and I'm not a big hitter anymore. The views were great and the course was fantastic, we were all very impressed with the place and considering I lived in Arnold for a while I'd never heard of it but am definitely going back whatever the cost. Some of the holes were just superb and brilliant to play. You have to be accurate and pick you way around some very tricky holes but get it booked you wont regret it.

Asking for trouble!

Course should never been open !

It was very foggy and could barely see 100yards .

Seeing as we had paid for it we foolishly played.

Only ever played Mapperley in warmer weather and the fairways are getting a right mess. Must say the greens was very good for this time of year.

Sorry, although I love this course never again in winter.

Great Challenge for a short course

Really enjoyed the round, course was in excellent condition given the time of year.

Some very challenging holes, lots of contours & fast greens and some Perfectly placed bunkers on the shorter par 4s.

Pro shop staff very helpful and friendly, clubhouse the same, food and drink very well priced.

Only issue was the pace of play of a 3 ball 2 ahead of us, youngster seemed to be getting a lesson and spending an

Eternity on each shot, then reliving the shot with the aid of parent/coach. Led to 3 stacked in tees behind them at times.

Apparently junior member? Aside this I will definitely re-visit in the spring and highly recommend

Fabulous Course and Team

First time playing around the course - will defiinitely come back. Yes, it is hilly in places (we cheated and got a buggy to save my legs!) but thats that fun of it - lots of different shots to go at and the views can be spectacular. pretty forgiving rough and trees as well so always good chance to find your ball even with the odd wayward shot. Greens and fairways in great nick. Really friendly club shop and bar. Great value for money.

Course in great condition

Tee’d off at 3:10 on Sunday afternoon and wasn’t held up at all.

Course is in fantastic condition with lush green fairways and greens without a single bad patch/brown spot on them. The course layout is creative and rewards good tee shots onto the fairway but doesn’t punish a slightly wayward one into the trees too much, which is how it should be.

The course is extremely hilly and undulated so if you are playing 18 holes and carrying or using a push cart be ready to burn some calories.

As a 20 handicapper I really enjoyed my round as I didn’t find it too difficult and would visit again. My advice to anybody playing this course would be to use the slopes as much as you can and sometimes the safe play is the best play!

Best course played this summer

We’ve played here once before (in winter )and I wasn’t really relishing our return this summer but how wrong I was! The course is in immaculate condition with well drained lush rough, perfectly mowed fairways and excellent greens. It’s a challenging course for a low handicapper but eminently playable. We had a great day there and have already booked to return. The round was topped off with a beer in the comfortable clubhouse and a chat with very friendly and welcoming members. Couldn’t fault the whole experience

Very quick true greens

This was our first visit to Mapperley GC , this is a well designed hilly layout , with fast true greens & lush undulating fairways. The club pro was very welcoming , friendly & helpful , as were the members who we chatted to on the course , the hotdeal green fee was an amazing £14 , we completed our round in 3hours with no hold ups at all . Highly recommended 👍

Good quality greens and variety

Course is an interesting challenge a lot of shots having to be played on slopes, and a variety of hole offering. Majority of bunkers are GUR which at the moment takes away from all-round experience, but understandable with recovering from wet conditions

Marvellous Mapperley

Really enjoyed my round. Despite the time of year and the poor weather the course presented very well. Quire hilly in places but a decent golfing challenge. Met the seniors while I was out playing and they made me feel very welcomed. The pro in the pro shop was just awesome. I felt very welcomed. Top marks to everyone. Please support this club if you get the opportunity. My only gripe was the signage I got lost a couple of times. From the 15 to the 16 is not the most obvious and could do with a sign pointing this out but the seniors came to my rescue. ❤️✅
