Marriott Hollins Hall Country Club

Looking forward to playing here, renowned amongst my mates and as an ex Marriott course that markets itself as a premium destination, expectations were high. Stunning location, great layout, challenging and the greens were in good condition. But, the whole course felt shabby and lacking investment. Worse than some municipal courses I’ve played recently. Rakes were back in the bunkers but total absence of decent sand. Some GUR but no sign of any work being done. Bunker surrounds unkempt and weeds growing. Hollins need to get their act together, no wonder it was quiet - which made for a speedy round as some consolation.

ALTHOUGH THE WEATHER WASNT GREAT .. REALLY ENJOYED THIS ROUND OF GOLF .. COURSE WAS CHALLENGING BUT IN GREAT CONDITION .. SOME OF THE HOLES WERE BREATHTAKING SUCH AS THE 14TH VIADUCT AND SEVERAL OTHERS .. DEFINITELY WANT TO PLAY AGAIN

Group of 6 from various locations in the UK, first time at the venue, we enjoyed it immensely.

Staff were great, very friendly. Hope to return in the future

Though track, beautiful views. Great value for money. Green keepers etiquette needs some work. But overall would recommend.

Had a cracking day at Hollins Hall⛳️

The weather was perfect and the course was a test played on the side of a big hill.

The walk to the first tee was severe and the guys do try to push a buggy at you but £30 is excessive in my opinion so I walked abs carried.

The fairways were a little long but it helped with some of the angles on the fairways keeping the ball in play.

The greens were a good size and in excellent condition with good speed and some interesting movement.

The signature hole 14th was tremendous but watch out for the 9th as that’s a tester!!

All in it was good and one I would do again the only thing missing thing on the course was guidance to the next holes as some are not clear at all indeed some it was a lottery to go the right way as the map wasn’t great….

Had a round with son and really enjoyed it and course in superb condition.

Buggie hire a little on the steep side at 30£ And needed for some of the older members of the group as bit of a hike in places otherwise all round excellent challenging holes and greens without being too overwhelming

Outrageous value , course in great order.

Friendly staff, nothing not to like .

Both times we have played this course slow play is a regular feature. Queuing sometimes with 3 groups on one hole and a lot of single players.

We enjoyed the challenge and there were some very interesting holes. Not sure why we were interrupted a few times by a groundsman blowing grass around with some huge machine! Completely unnecessary and distracting. Otherwise would have given it 5 stars

We attended the golf course to be told we were double booked with another party. It was commneted to me by Mark thst they hsad received no correspondance from you.

We were accommodated by Mark and was very helpful. However why this has happened is not very professional.

We loved everything about the place. The staff were very helpful, the course was in great shape, some challenging holes "the 15th!" . But we were unfortunate in that a group of 8 golfers decided to hav a sit down after the ninth and started teeing off just as we approached, resulting in a 30 minute delay so that we abandoned after the 15th.
