Brilliant views, nice budget course

Stunning views. Course in shabby condition but given it’s ran by volunteers that’s to be expected, I’ve played before and will play it again. Great value

Beautiful scenery, reasonable course

Very interesting layout in lovely scenery. Course very quiet. Greens in poor condition due to the dry weather. Clubhouse was locked so no access to toilets. Didn't see any officials of the club. Should be a system to give access to the clubhouse for visitors.

Enjoy the layout at Ben Rhydding and the views. Played there many times but was disappointed at the quality of the greens and tees. Greens were bumpy, very patchy with more weed than grass. Tees had long grass and were uneven. Poorly maintained. Fairways were better. Normally in much better condition, especially during the summer. Wouldn't mind too much but for the green fees are almost double what they used to be and the course is in worse condition. Hollins Hall gives you more in many ways for the same price.

Expensive for 9 holes

Greens in a poor state. Understanding that it’s volunteer run but price needs reflection. Clover growing from greens.

BRGC Still The Best 9 hole challenge in golf.

Not played this course for about 7 years, but it is still THE best 9 hole golf course in the Uk and even more of a challenge now that the trees are bigger! Luckily though now, both the trees on the signature holes , The Khyber 4 and 13 have disappeared so your drive is now a tad easier, still a heck of a challenging blind par 4 though. The green were suffering a bit in this exceptionally dry Spring/ Summer, but this is still essentially a moorland course where you have to adapt and improvise with 7 iron chip and run onto the greens. As an ex member, i thoroughly enjoyed my 18 holes on a fabulous sunny day, well done Ben Rhydding Golf Club.

Be prepared

Probably my own fault but didn’t realise this is a 9 hole course, plays as 18 but has shared greens.

Most of the holes are blind and as you are in the side of a hill finding your ball is fun.

My trolley nearly topped over loads of times. There was a shot gun comp on so shouldn’t have been able to book on really.

People we spoke to on course were brilliant though so thanks for that chaps

1st time playing the course.

Today was my 1st experience of playing at Ben Rhydding.

Course conditions were good apart from the greens they were in need of some care. Really hard to get any good rolls on them.

The other thing I found challenging was the layout of the course I think you’d need to play a few rounds there to get used to where to go and where to play.

Other than that it was an enjoyable round of golf out there today.

Good views spoilt by dreadful greens and poorly designed course.

The design of the course opens itself to so many instances of near misses or worse with drives and long fairway shots. Even worse, the greens were neglected which resulted in putts being bouncy and easily over-hit. At £5 it would be a fun almost crazy golf course but at £17.50 for just 9 holes, it's an insult. Don't waste your money.

Greens Terrible

Nice views, some nice holes but a few a bit confusing....however the greens were the worst i've ever seen. No way at all the course should've been open...you can't play on them like that....so a pricey twilight was a waste of money.

They should forewarn people they are so so vad. Staff rating 1 as I didn't see a soul!

Fairways were in excellent condition

The Greens were below acceptable standard due to lack of rain

Not sure if they allowed to water them.

Quirky course layout, course knowledge is a must for a this course and i’m sure that will come.

Overall we enjoyed it and will return

Fabulous views on this mind blowing 9 hole course. Tough walking course with several blind drives situated right up on the moors of ilkley. Fair condition overall but greens were poor on this occasion. No facilities available at course but nice pub located nearby.

Hilly and challenging

Reasonably tough 9 hole course with several blind holes. If you’ve never played it before, it can make you look like you don’t know how to swing a club.
