Very challenging!
If you enjoy steep hills this is the course for you! Very challenging but I thoroughly enjoyed the course. Either the course is tough or I’m terrible at golf… 😂 friendly staff and was made to feel very welcome, fantastic stuff!
Friendly and very reasonable 9 hole
I played with my father and it was his first time out in a number of years.
I hadn’t booked but I could see there were lots of tee times available on the BRS/ Golf Now so we just pitched up.
The staff member in the bar was very friendly and informative, I hadn’t played this course before and he gave me a really well produced map of the course which was really handy and I wish more courses did.
There had been a significant amount of rain in the week running up to my round, but the fairways were pretty firm and well kept (probably helped by the sheep on the course).
The greens were pretty slow and didn’t move much, which is probably on account of all the rain.
All in all this was a challenging 9 hole owing to the terrain, and the relatively small greens and narrow fairways.
It was also incredibly cheap, which wasn’t reflected in how well the bar was furnished etc.
Belter of a course
Absolutely beautiful course with stunning views, will definitely play again
Marsden
Course was in great condition after all the rain,. Greens were poor but overall it was a good knock. Bar closed when finished so went down to the cricket club in the sunshine.
A Gem of a course
Lovely clubhouse and the most friendly staff and members. Loved our day here. Obviously the course has struggled with the weather like all courses ATM but looking forward to a summer visit. Location and views 👌 Best of luck for 2024 Martin and Toni. Nelson GC
Beautiful Scenic course
A beautiful Scenic course in the peak district. Some lovely holes and great views of the surrounding hills. Even met a few sheep on the way around. Lovely, friendly staff in the club and very helpful and welcoming. An all around brilliant experiece. Well worth the near 30 mile journey.
Another good day at Marsden
Pleasant conditions and an empty course. Could not ask for more! Good condition and very nicely kept. Everyone friendly as usual. A few very testing holes. As long a par 4 as you will find.
Excellent round at friendly Marsden.
A challenging 9 hole course with spectacular views of the moors. Punishing rough but very good greens. Many interesting holes and long par fours. Friendly members and a very friendly and helpful steward.
Delightful
We played this course on a bright, crisp winter's day. Temporary greens were in play on many of the holes. We thoroughly enjoyed the course and its surroundings. The clubhouse is lovely too. Terrific value.
Great track
This is a fun course for those who love their golf. The opening hole is short and straightforward but then the fun begins as the first of the uphill holes comes into play (tip: aim left off the tee). Once you have negotiated the second, you will get a respite on holes 3 & 4 before a long climb up 5 begins. 6 is the signature par 3 over a tree and the uphill 7th is a mighty prospect for any golfer. A bogey is a respectable score on this beast of a par 4. Two short but potentially tricky holes complete the 9. The course will test a range of golfing skills. Play well here and you can play well anywhere. The clubhouse is lovely too. Great value and worth visiting.
Great course
Having played here many times as just on the road from me can say a great and challenging course. Great views on a good day. Some good holes 5th 6th 7th and would definitely recommend you play here when you can
Hidden Gem
Equidistant from central Manchester and Leeds just off the A62, Marsden Golf Club has stunning views across the Pennine Moors. Its delightful clubhouse has a welcoming atmosphere and the course’s uphill par 4s provide a stern test for even the longer hitters. Beware also your approach to the greens on the downhill holes where well placed shots are required. And if you’re off your game, you can just take in the magnificent scenery - you will have earned it.
Excellent course
Known as Yorkshires friendliest course and a hidden gem.
Course in great condition
Love the 6th hole with the tree in the middle
Excellent price.
Everyone really friendly
