Great value course
Great 9 hole course that is not easy. Lots of trees and tight tee shots. Was in great condition yesterday (June) although does get very deep and muddy in the winter.
Good value for money and good practice. The greens were very good and quite fast
Good for time of year
Course was in fair nick considering the weather, greens were great. The tee boxes however are so uneven so it’s hard to find a good place to tee off from
A Lovely 9 hole course.
Was a little bit unsure about playing here due to some of the previous reviews, but we thoroughly enjoyed playing this course. It's a really lovely, quiet setting with some tricky holes to play. The course is generally in a very good condition, the tee's are quite poor (not level in places and well churned up from winter play), however the greens and fairways were in very good condition for the time of year.
Wet conditions but poor communication
I had to call up on the morning to check if the course we had booked was open, which it wasn’t. I was informed we could play another course on site that had 6 holes open, so we opted for that. Wasnt made aware these were all temporary greens which made putting impossible.
Happy
First time playing 9 holes here very happy with the way course is set but would of liked better direction between green and next tee was unhappy with golf now has I was overcharged by them for this has they booked on main 18 hole course wich is £2 per person dearer for 9 holes than the actual 9 jole course will definitely play here again but will book with course next tome
It's a pity
First started playing this course about 30years ago, along with the Main Course. Unfortunately those days were it's its prime & it's slowly gone downhill since then. Greens are ok but tees are in extremely bad condition, worth the price but could be so much better with a bit of TLC
Beautiful setting, poorly maintained
The Valley course has all the makings of a beautiful course. The holes are challenging, and well-laid out, demanding accurate play. Unfortunately the course suffers from water-logging, and the fairways are poorly maintained. The greens were actually surprisingly good - the best part, but the fairways not so much. I will return in the summer when things are dryer, as this is a gorgeous setting, and a good test.
Course looked tired. Fairways needed cutting and tee's need to be looked at as we're not flat and sandy causing slipping when playing shots.
a lot of dry lies on fairways but the greens....as expected from a course of this grade lovely to putt on when I got there
