Slow play
I understand that I was playing as a single but the ‘society club’ players would not allow any playing through and were very slow.
I eventually walked off after 9 holes
Great course, very welcoming club
This place is great. The cost is always very low, the staff are friendly and the course is great with some challenging holes. The views are incredible, if you are looking for a welcoming golf club for visitors and not wanting to pay a lot of money this place is worth a round.
a pleasant experience
Booked a round while my wife at cook school and got teamed up with three locals taking advantage of GN hot deal.
We all walked and enjoyed the views of the Ribble valley on a beautiful day. Staff in pro shop very friendly and helpful .
Course in nice condition . It is uphill and downhill a lot so take a buggy if you’re not looking for the additional exercise. Greens in good condition considering the challenging dry conditions.
I would play again if visiting area.
Great views
Great course, greens are very well looked after and the course is stunning - if you don’t like walking up hills would probably recommended getting a buggy
Commendable
Played here for the first time, course in good nick, not much in the way of bunkers. Staff pleasant, had a pint afterwards.
If you haven't played here I recommend you do but be warned, it's a good calf muscle work out
Poor course for the price.
How they charge £30 through golfnow is robbery. If you want to practice your putting before playing there, get your putter and few golf balls, run the bath, get in and try and hit the plug hole.
Most greens had puddles, 2 of the holes were closed but there was nothing on golfnow that mentioned this, it was soggier than me nans knickers.
I can only imagine it's nice when it's dry in the peak of summer so hold off until then if you're thinking of playing there.
Friendly cheap round
Was made to feel very welcome.
Course in good condition for the time of year.
Not the longest course but the hills and undulations create the test. Some really good holes.
Good for a cheap round and wasn't busy.
More of a beginners course.
A really good experience
I was visiting my Mum locally and popped in for a round, using the Golf Now app to book. I was given a warm welcome, and invited to play holes 1-2 twice if I liked, as two other holes were closed for winter.
All tees were off mats, which was no problem as I had a set of suitable tees. One hole was reduced from a par 4 to a long par 3, but this was all made clear on the winter score card.
Overall the course was damp but in pretty good nick, considering the time of year. It's a challenging as some holes are tight, and some need careful thinking about which club to take off the tee
I really enjoyed the experience and would play the course again. I carried and was fine with that, although plenty of carts were available.
Should be clearer when booking.
Winter Tees and 2 holes closed. Greens in good condition. Clubhouse bar (in the restaurant/hotel is great.
Great course but hire a buggy!
Very friendly staff on arrival, the course was in great condition with groups nicely spread out.
It's a pretty hilly course so would recommend hiring a buggy.
Great views but hilly
Nice golf course, short but the hills make it very difficult and long. Definitely worth getting a buggy. Lovely views from all over. Water and bunkers everywhere and tight down most fairways. Tee boxes need some attention but greens were very good. Would definitely play again.
Course
Far too hilly, however views were nice at the top , suggestion, make sure you book a buggy , or be prepared for a hike, course and greens were first class though, and staff were mega
Great views on a beautiful course
Me and my friend played on this course at it was great, greens were pristine and true and the course was well looked after, lovely staff and was a really good day for us. Warning it is quite hilly but the carts are affordable and very good quality, would 100% recommend to new players and players who want a good day out.
