North Downs Golf Club

Much better condition than our own course (Surrey Downs), obviously gets lots of TLC.

Haven't played it for 20 years, it was as good as I remember it.

we are encouraged to play again.

First time round the course. Enjoyed it a lot. A few challenging holes for beginners, particularly two of the Par 3s which you don't want to go off course on!

I cannot believe i live so close to this course and have never played here before.

You can always tell how god the course is by the welcome and appearance of the clubhouse, facilities, practice green, nets and first tee block.

It was unusual to have the putting green share the 18th hole green, but the greens were amazing.

The fairways were well manicured, and the bunkers well maintained, however, the tee blocks were a little worn (understandable given the overall course condition).

Condition of this short but scenic course was excellent. The greens particularly were in terrific condition and the whole course looked well maintained and cared for. The staff there were welcoming and friendly and we were fortunate that there were no players either directly in front or behind us, so we played at an untroubled pace.

Had a very pleasant and enjoyable round there followed by a couple of beers outside in the afternoon.

Really nice course with some narrow holes which make you think. The course will pose a real challenge to mid handicapper but its still forgving enough to make it fun.. The back 9 is really up there with some great views. Course is in very good condition aswell but greens a little firm. Staff are very friendly and members very welcoming. £45 for a morning tee of is on the cusp of being acceptable, facilities mean it should be under the £40 mark really.

Very much worth the trip, the back 9 holes are particularly interesting and challenging.

Lovely course, back 9 is a belter. Front 9 fairly standard parkland. Course in great condition, and lovely family feel. Will definitely be back!

Cracks on the fairway, bare patches thoughout. Greens hard and recently worked on so made oputting across the green difficult. Hopefully in a couple of weeks green will have recovered and be very good but need watering as well. Tees had plenty of grass and rotated enough.

Course was in fairly good condition , greens have been improved but tee boxes need attention and need to have course info on them which would help

A lovely course. The hills of the North Downs make for a decent workout and create some challenging holes. Really enjoyed this outing and highly recommend the course. Beautiful setting and a really fun round.

Despite being a sub 6000 yard track, the course has been layed out in a way where there are still a number of 400+ yard par 4s. Of course there are reachable par 4s but due to quite small greens it is often better to lay up. Greens weren't in very good condition due to recently being airrated with grooves so ready putts was impossible, once they have some rain and sun they will be back and much better. The course has been suffering with hard frosts and snow so needs a run of good weather to bring it back to its best.

You need to map to find your way around, it's not obvious where the next hole is on a number of occasions, sign posting should be added to improve the experience.

A brave golfer would attack the 18th green, get it wrong and you will either smash a clubhouse window or hammer it too long and you would hit your fellow golfers enjoying a drink on the terrace -about 20 yards from the middle of the green!! Needless to say the fear got the better of me and I duffed my approach!

Woudl recommend this course and look forward to going back in a few weeks when the greens have improved.
