North Downs Golf Club

First time playing North Downs and will certainly be back. The course was in excellent condition especially the greens. You can clearly see the time and effort that has been put in to make the course a pleasure to play - well done green keeping staff! The clubhouse was great as well. Friendly staff and they have a very nice outside seating arrangement where you can sit with a beer watching the other golfers coming in on the 18th green. Finally, what we paid to play was complete value for money especially when compared to other courses near by.

Potential to be a really nice course, good views and holes. However the greens were like nothing I have ever seen, in fact I don't think we can call them greens. Should have read the reviews before booking. Like putting on a cart path, totally pointless. Should have some sort of warning before booking

Lovely course only let down by the size of its car park! Staff and fellow players were very friendly and welcoming. The course itself was testing without being overly punishing. Lovely greens to putt on. Would highly recommend.

With many courses suffering from threadbare fairways and dodgy greens, it was a pleasant discovery that North Downs has lush grass in abundance. The first green and a few on the holes over the road weren't great, but the rest were in good condition. We played preferred lies on the fairways as there were a few areas which were patchy. Some of the tee boxes could do with a trim.

We were a 4ball wedged in between 2 balls but the pace of play was good considering it was busy in front of us.

The staff are very friendly and we enjoyed a pint on their terrace afterwards. We paid £21 through GolfNow and that was great value. We will probably go back before long.

Course was really below average, greens change from hole to hole, only £20 per person but I wouldn’t even say it was worth that. Whole course was scraggy.

Hilly course with some quirky holes but overall enjoyable. Pro shop helpful & very friendly. Greens had suffered with irrigation problems earlier in the year so club offered discounted green fee. The greens were understandably left slightly slower but still playable.

Need to use your brain for positional play throughout course

From a 2 week gap the greens have come on leaps and bounds. Tough course but enjoyable

Played this course on a sunday morning and it felt like we had the place to ourselves. It's a tough course with sloped fairways which you must take into account when teeing off, the greens weren't great but I know from the past they are normally very good, I'm sure after a recent issue they will be back to normal soon. Really enjoyed the layout and fairway conditions were excellent. I would definately play this course again.

Greens need a bit of work as mentioned by others. Events in lockdown havent helped, but speaking to a few members and with the evident seeding they should be sorted in a month or two. Course is challenging and makes you think. Could do with signage ad layout is tricky for newbies (not all scorecards have a handy map stapled - maybe add map to scorecard?)

Greens were poor which is a shame as the rest of the course was in decent condition.

No point going back till the greens are sorted.

The course some excellent looking holes and is somewhere I am keen to play again as there are several ways to approach each hole.

The only negatives: there is no signage or tee information so finding your way around is not easy. Also the greens were in poor condition so will wait a couple of months before playing again, this was reflected in the price though.

As per previous reviews, the course is beautiful but let down by the state of the greens. Rough, bumpy and dry would best describe them. Such a shame as the rest of the course is fantastic.
