only one thing to say...shame on you for those greens...with out doubt the worst ever

Beautiful course but let down by some irrigation problems meaning the greens were not in good condition.

Such a shame the greens were awful but I’m sure a couple of months time they will be back to there best then this place will be amazing value

Course is nice but greens are the worst I’ve ever seen

I understand that they have to be worked on but they were in such a poor condition that my ball was jerking left and right on putts due to the divots and mud. Some puddles forming on the greens too led to squelching underfoot

the fairways were OK but the greens were shocking! It was like putting on a cobbled street!! I knownits recently been sold and they have lost a lot of members so that could attribute to the conditions on the course...

All in all it wasn't terrible. Yes the greens were bad but fairways and rough was well kept. Tee boxes could have done with some love and the bunkers were pretty well kept.

Played North Downs a few times before and it's a lovely little course. However on 5th July 2020 the greens were in a terrible state, probably the worst greens I have ever played on. We were informed of this at the Pro Shop, hence the reasonable price, but these course conditions should be flagged up by the Club either on this site or on the Clubs own website of which neither show this. I would certainly avoid for the next month or so as the greens will probably take some time.

The layout of the course is good with a nice variety of different challenges across the holes, the tees did not have any markers so on a few occasions it was difficult to know if we were playing the correct hole where tees were close to one another which was plain stupid. The greens have to be the poorest greens I have played for quite some time and are a real let down on what could be a cracking little course.

So despite recent bad reviews on the state of the greens we tried North Downs for the first time, having played many of the other local courses and wanting a change. The recent rain had started to work its magic on the greens and whilst not perfect they were OK. The rest of the course was in great condition. Really enjoyed this mature track. It's a course that deserves support - and would highly recommend it, partcularly at a time when some other courses have hiked up prices and are very busy. Very friendly members too.

Unplayable due to condition primarily of the greens ( in mid June ! ) . The greens are threadbare, bumpy and grassless over most of the 18 holes . Pro shop failed to mention this when I called previous to booking . Save your money and go elsewhere it really is that bad . Couldn`t complete the round as the greens were that bad . . . . .

The greens are probably the worst I have ever! Can put and the reduce green fee is not worth playing this pleasant course!

We were the first to tee off so we set the pace of play, unfortunately No matter how fast or slow we played it would not hide the fact that the Tee’s and Greens were in an absolute terrible condition through lack of water. I talked to a club member who said “the club has no watering system at all” When I got home and looked at previous reviews they all said the same. I phoned Golf Now to complain and was told I have to take the matter up with the club which is strange because I paid GolfNow the fee, surely G/N could have put a warning on its website about the course,

We have played this course many times and never had any complaints about the course or the staff

All good, well paced round on a quiet Monday.

Shop apologised in advance for the yellow, bone hard greens caused by a sprinkler problem. Needs a solid 24 hours of rain.

Unfortunately the greens are in dreadful condition, don’t think I have ever seen worse. Apparently had issues with the water supply during the height of the recent drought. I doubt that they will be able to improve them during summer 2020.

If/when greens are back to an acceptable level would recommend the course. Quite short but interesting and challenging layout.
