Golfer Reviews
Course not maintained - lack of investment in the course
Park Wood is an interesting layout suffering from chronic underinvestment in the course. It seems owners are trying to recoup cost of major clubhouse develpment by upping green fees, while spending absolutely no money on the course. Unfortunately the condition of the course now puts it on a par with badly maintained municipal/council run courses.
Good layout
Decent course with a good layout - greens recently treated and slowly recovering. No putting / chipping green.
Lots of trees makes for an interesting challenge - mid difficulty course.
Rainy day
We were the only players on the course bar a 3 ball in front and still managed to play a decent round
GONE DOWNHILL
This was a great course two years ago but now it has gone downhill. The greens were bobble one or two damaged by tyre tracks of which one was out of use. Fairways could have done with a cut and tee boxes were awful.
This was a twilight tee time for £25 and barely worth £20 let alone £35-40 at peak time.
Disappointed as it's a great layout.
Inconsistent Conditions
Staff are extremely friendly
Golf course was in terrible condition, greens were caked in sand, putting near on impossible and still charging full price. Along with temp green in place on a hole.
Played a couple of weeks prior and was lovely but shouldn’t be charging full price with the works going on.
Course in poor condition
I know I played just after lockdown but the course was in bits and we had to pay £40 for the privilege. Virtually no grass on the greens so were putting mainly on sand. Not worth £40 and should have been told about the state of the course when booking. Won't be going back anytime soon.
Lovely golf course, understandably not in the best of knick at the moment but would play again in the fiture
Longest course we have played. Tough set of par 3's
Poor condition and overpriced
We played this course after lockdown and we were charged £40 each as a green fee, which turned out to be extremely overpriced. The greens and fairways were in very poor condition and there was even a temporary green. Pace of play was extremely slow as they had packed too many tee times into the day - we took over 4 hours to get round as a 2 ball. Overall a very bad experience, overpriced and we won’t be returning.
Harder than you might think...
I like this course, I think it is a fair test, the staff were great and they sorted it so we could play as a single 2 ball. It is not in the best condition and is already baked hard with very thin grass in places. There was 1 temp green and one with lot of GUR. They are running a play 5 rounds, get one free promotion which seems like very good value...
