Bad fairway Conditions
Played this course on a nice day. Greens was good, pace of play very good, course was challenging. However the fairways and General course was in poor conditions. Shame really could be a top course. They need to spend less on the club house and image and more on maintaining the golf course! Worth a play tho.
Great course
First time at this course and will definitely return. Greens were great and consistent. Staff were polite and friendly.
Good Value
A long, narrow, testing course with fast greens, even after a bucket load of rain the night before. The fairways have tight lays with all the dry weather, but that is changing. Recommend highly.
Great little course
Fist time playing at the course.
Me and a friend were really impressed. The course v price it was excellent and the greens were fast and well maintained.
Bit of work needs done on a areas around the green, but we have also had an extensive peiriod did dry weather so could be down to that.
Staff were friendly, just would be great to have a good putting green and chipping area and the range to be open.
Enjoyable
Great greens, fairways could do with a bit of work lots of bald patches but a nice course to play would play again.
So close, but so far
This has the potential to be superb, but, it still has a long way to go
So many bunkers were GUR, the ones that weren't, should have been as the sand is dreadful. The clubhouse has obviously had huge investment, but the simple things on the course have been missed. The tee boxes are shoddy, the paths are overgrown, the fairways are tired.
Some of it may be down to the weather, but I've played around here lots recently, and other courses, who are cheaper on the weekend, play a lot better than this. Such a shame.
First Time
Played this course with my partner on the 7/7/20, it’s wasn’t busy at all so we didn’t feel rushed. The course clean and looked after. Would play here again.
18 holes
Nice little course with friendly staff. Some facilities shut but you could still get a beer/coffee if you wanted one. Nice course however due to good weather and no doubt furloughed staff fairways were a bit dry but too be expected! I’d play again but try outside of sat morning as bit expensive for what it was.
Society day - unplayable
Unaware that there was a large society being sent out at the same time as me. Unable to play through so spent the whole day watching them looking for balls in the bushes or faffing around on the greens.
Spent almost 3hrs for nine holes which is not acceptable. Gave up after nine holes
Does what you expect
The course condition was adaquate but no better. Greens were fine but fairways were poor. Layout was decent.
Basically if you want a perfectly acceptable course that welcomes visitors, even an early tee time on a sunday morning, then this is a good choice. If you want a really well conditioned course then maybe look elsewhere.
Brilliant Course
Played for the first time at this course, the course was very well looked after considering they have a been closed for a couple of months. It was busy and the tee off times were nicely spread out so that you could enjoy your game. Golf buggies were available straight away and staff were friendly. Unfortunately the golf shop wasn’t open but that due to covid-19 but we enjoyed our game of golf. Definitely recommend.
Hidden Gem
Booked up at the last minute and was actually surprised to grab an early morning 4 ball as most other courses were fully booked.
The course plays fairly long as one of its main features with plenty of dog legs to keep you thinking on fairway positions.
Some holes played tight thanks to mostly tree lined course but get onto the back 9 and this opens up nicely.
The greens were fairly small so approaching the green had to be a met with good accuracy.
The only real criticism was the amount of unrepaired pitch marks that littered some of the greens otherwise a lovely course that you should give a try.
A decent maturing course golf
T’s and Greens in good nick, greens were slow mind! Many bunkers left to over grow and empty of sand, but over all a good course with some nice and challenging holes
Worth a round !!
minor tweaks
• good length, great layout, usually in very good condition;
• it would be great to see a bit of TLC done midweek, the fairways seem to be overgrown on Fridays;
• management should start looking into dynamic pricing: i think it's silly to have the course empty on a Friday afternoon when you could fill it up with £15-£18 twilight green fees. keeping it around £30 all day Mon-Fri will most likely end up causing you a loss of revenue throughout the summer;
just not very nice
Ok - so COVID means its not 100% operational, but that's the same for other courses in the area too
The course was littered with beer bottles, not nice
OK course, OK condition, Poor greens
There are far better and nicer courses in the areas for the same price, Woldingham around the corner is about 100% nicer for the same price
Unbelievable slow
Firstly not a £40 course, although in better condition and the 1st cut has actually seen a cut then previous round here.
8 min intervals between tee times is not enough. We started 3 holes behind nearest group. Soon caught them up in 4 holes.
We then waited before every shots.
Painful.
Another example of a greedy club who try and squeeze in to many tee times in a day.
God help the members if that’s what they have to put up with. A group of which picked up and left at the 11th they were so fed up with the pace.
Either get a Marshall out their or just stop booking 4 balls 8 mins apart !!!
