Pike Fold Golf Club

The course is in fantastic condition.

It’s challenging, every hole unique and very well tended.

We couldn’t believe how quiet it was, it’s a hidden gem.

First time at Pike fold GC, friendly staff from pro's shop to bar staff.

Fantastic greens, course well looked after, not long but need to plot your way round.

Definitely recommend.

Very friendly welcome from the pro shop, course was challenging but fantastic. Greens in impeccable condition, best course I’ve played in Manchester.

Usually one my favourite courses but today pace of play very slow and course in a poor condition, 3 holes closed and not told this when booking. Maybe only play this in the summer if we get one😂

Considering the weather of late the course was drier than I expected. Green keepers have been busy upgrading bunkers and adding new drainage. Looking forward to playing there again soon.

First time in this course, A cold day but little wind, fairways damp but mostly good underfoot. Greens in quite good condition would benefit from rolling but accept that recent weather likely to have hampered this . Lovely open aspect, evidence of ground works around ponds but did not affect play - should look really good come summer. Only downside was a fair amount of motorway noise though to be expected due to location of course. Overall a very pleasant afternoons golf, will definitely play here again.

Excellent condition for the time of year and a bonus being on greens.

Booked & paid for the course green fee on the GN App, and it was in the “Hot Deal” section.

On arrival at the pro shop, the lads in the shop were really friendly and helpful, as were the members we encountered on the course.

The disappointment was that we didn’t know any of the following, or we would not have booked it;

Half of the opening hole was shut, it’s a par 5, but you walk 100 yards down the fairway and play it as a par 4.

All tees were temporary tees.

No fairways in play, either you need a mat (which were not available) or move your ball into the semi rough, which was long and thick.

All greens were being hollow cored as we played, so putting was impossible.

Came off the course covered in mud and it’s not rained for a week.

I understand it’s winter golf but it was pretty much unplayable.

Having said all that, the facility is obviously very good and I can see that it would be nice to play in the summer.

There’s been heavy rain and most courses would be flooded. Pike Fold was in excellent condition. The greens were fantastic. This place is a hidden gem and is more like a £50 a £70 course. It’s not overly challenging but is a great confidence builder. The pace of play was great and members wiling to let you play through where your held up. Would highly recommend you can’t go wrong!

This is an ideal course if you’re a casual golfer who is looking for a fair challenge. It was let down by the fact that half the bunkers were either flooded or boggy. There were no ball cleaning stations at all which you really need when conditions are muddy. The layout of the course is good and there are some challenging long par 4’s. This course would be excellent if it had a bit more TLC but still worth a visit.

Got paired with 2 strangers, had a lovely game, greens are superb, only grip would be a lack of sand in the bunkers on some holes

Great course interesting holes in my opinion needs more sand in the bunkers overall great game of golf definitely be back.
