Enjoyed this little course

Autumn golf so was a bit soggy in places, was a little disconcerting teeing off over and close to greens and the course layout was a little confusing at times but we really enjoyed ourselves on here. Closest to an ace I’ve ever been on the 16th - 18”

Go on a mid week/quiet day

Nice small 18 hole course with some tricky/hilly holes.

Greens and fairway were kept well and maintained to a good standard, staff were friendly when I arrived in the pro shop and even speaking to a few members on the way round which were pleasant.

What let the course down was was the layout, a lot of waiting around waiting for groups to tee off or finish on greens on different holes. It is laid out that in a way you are teeing off over greens and other tee boxes on a few occasions.

I went on a weekend with quite a few groups on the course which didn't help but it just felt like I was constantly in someone's way or I was waiting for somebody else. To put it into perspective the round took me 3hours 45mins and it's a relatively short course.

Like I say, visit on a quiet day or expect a long day.

Wet weather
Walked

prestwich golf club

arrived at prestwich golf club where i was greeted by the friendly professional. i proceeded to the first

tee in glorious sunshine.after twelve holes the weather changed from bright sunshine to dangerous thunder and lightning. i was forced to take shelter and as i did the rain was so torrential the green

were completely flooded and the rain and thunder and lightning continued. At this stage i was fearing for my safety . Following around fifteen minutes i started to walk in as the course was without doubt totally under water and dangerous.I managed to find my way back to the pro shop and describing what i had just witnessed. The professional commented that the course was not closed and the greens would dry out.i must have spent twenty minutes sheltering from constant thunder rain and lightning.

Very disappointed with the professionals comments and with no regard to peoples safety the klaxon should have been sounded and a complimentary round offered. really disappointed.

Pleasant return

Played this course with a work colleague back in late 2019 when it was undergoing a revamp. At the time there was only 12 holes, but it was an enjoyable and challenging course. We both always said when back in Manchester area we would return.

All I can say is Fantastic. The new course layout is awesome. I can highly recommend this course it plays so well and the greens run so true. On first arriving every one is so friendly from the Pro who gives out course advise to the bar staff and the members in the club house. If in Manchester get on this course.

Local Gem

Played Prestwich a handful of times and it never fails to impress, especially value for money. Greens were in great condition and consistent. Will be coming back again for sure.

Great overall course!

What a lovely course with a great club pro! Honestly the only thing about this course is it is rather short other than that brilliant all round course and club!

Lovely condition but to short

As golf clubs seem to think that they had an upturn in there members because and solely because of the pandemic they seem to think a reasonable price to pay for a round of golf is anything from £25 to £80 for quite frankly amatuerishly run clubs. This course is in good condition as expected considering it is July but £26 is far to much for a course which is 4600 yards long and the shout of fore was a regular occurance as holes crossed over each other. Just to let golf clubs know that membership is once again on the decline so the need for nomad golfers will be even greater when financing a club becomes to difficult. Won't be playing this club again.

Not too be missed.

The course , facilities and the gentleman in the club shop gave a 1st class and friendly service. Used the newly renovated facilities inside and was very impressed. After telling the gentleman in the pro shop that it was my first time playing the course he took it upon himself to walk us to the first tee and explain the layout in great detail. Will certainly be returning and I’ll be telling anyone I know who plays to give this great course a try. Thanks again

Way too slow

The course is nice however with half the holes crossing each other you spend half your time waiting to play doors. Car park isn't big enough to accommodate players on course. On a quiet day would be worth playing however definatley avoid weekends. I was looking at possibly joining this club however swiftly decided to join Whitefields instead
