Terrible condition
This course is now a joke , shame really as it good be decent , but the greens are disgusting fairways are like a 2nd cut of rough in parts and there are litterally hundreds of people just treating the golf course as a public park ! Walking up and down the fairways and over the greens and not giving a care in the world . Paid £27 which was £20 too much.
Golf
This is a good course, summer or winter. It's hilly in places but quite open.
Surprised
Prior to my visit ,all I'd heard about was dog walkers. That's the last thing I'll take away from my first experience. Varied, undulating, challenging, picturesque, and well maintained That do for starters?
Not to mention Les in the shop, nice fella.
Pace of play
Although I think it’s a very nice course and enjoyed playing the holes the pace of play was absolutely terrible at one point we had three t times all waiting on the t it got to the 14 th hole when both the two infront of us and my friend and I decided we were not prepared to stay in the rain any longer waiting to t off someone should either sort out the t times or be on the course making sure people are keeping up with play it ruined what could have been a nice game again the course was very nice but it would put me off wanting to play it again I’ve not had it this bad on all the other courses we play in the area ?
Day Out At Queens Park
Good mix of challenging and shorter par 4s
Well conditioned and suitable for all standards
Dog walkers everywhere
First time playing at this course, overall feedback being that the course it’s self was an ok course. However, it is open to the public and dog walkers were everywhere. (People walking up fair ways, dogs trying to pinch your ball, bunkers and fairways were in poor condition aswell)
We paid £32 for a round each, I wouldn’t pay more than £15 to play at this course. Won’t be playing there again, highlight was the cider at the end of the round!
Overall rating 3/10.
A very local feel
Dog walking park
So we were working in the area booked this course to tee off at 4 o’clock told no buggy’s at this time which was annoying but we still went ahead. Didn’t see any other golfers just around 100 dogs running loose over greens people walking not a care in the world! Kids sat on the greens. Course isn’t actually bad good condition just a shame it’s not a golf course first dog waking and socialising first here !
Dog walkers.
Queenspark is a great course with lots of history... Quite long and challenging. Very hilly in parts...
Unfortunately dog walkers and strollers appear out of nowhere all over the course..
Beware
Considering the weather lately, the course is very playable. Two points of notice. Firstly dogcwalkers who stand chatting in the middle of the fairway, and those who believe your ball is intended for their pet.
Apart from this small but annoying matter, Queens Park can be a good test of golf.
It would be nice if the bar was open after 3.30 ad I and many others were in need of a hot drink!!!🤭
Super course to play in the winter
Really can’t fault the course. Open when many in the area closed due to days of rainfall. All greens in use and only a few mats for tee’s. Worth the 70 mile round trip. Be back soon !
Considering how much rain there's been recently, this course had 18 holes open and it was in great condition!
Considering the recent rain the course was in good condition and what you would expect at this time of year.As it is a municipal park course there are a lot of dog walkers and people walking around some of which are oblivious to golfers. A well laid out course with some challenging terrain but all in all very good.
Unfortunately in the winter the bar closes at 1430, which is a little too early if you start your round before lunch.
Good Winter Course
Many courses still closed due to the amount of rain the past few months. So was very surprised how dry and firm the fairways where. Testing enough and quite hilly in places. Downside to this place is the dog walkers. Some of these people were oblivious that they were on a golf course and could be hit by a ball. Standing in the middle if the faiway talking to felliw walkers throwing a ball for there dog. Otheres walking down the middle over a bling crest. In a nutshell! If you dont mind the dogs running off with your ball and dog walkers everywhere go play. It is a nice course and good in the winter.
