Course In Superb Condition
The course was in generally superb condition given the parched weather of recent weeks. Greens were very true, fairways and bunkers in good condition too. Rough was a bit on the thick side in some places. There were a couple of slowish fourballs ahead of me but we still got around in about 4 hours so it didn't mar the round in the end
Teriffic course
Unreal course, great setting! Fairways, greens perfection cannot recommend this course enough
Play this course
I had avoided this course up to last year due to recommendations from friends saying it’s not worth it.
Sadly I stuck with that even when a new owner came on the scene many years ago. What a mistake.
For a mid handicapper it is a great challenge and this Sunday was no exception.
Greens were in excellent condition, and considering a days worth of torrential rain there was only a small amount of surface water in a couple of isolated places.
It has great views from some of the higher tee positions and has a great feel to it.
Definitely one to add to the must play list.
Skylark review
Great time played a 1 ball , really quiet so took my time greens in great condition
Great course, greens could be better
Overall a great round of golf. Greens were being treated which meant they didn't run true and could have been cut shorter/faster and generally in better condition. If that's sorted then this is a proper great course. Good layout, good variety and good fun. Quite short but I didn't mind that, just means a bit more thought goes into tee shots. Only down side was a shockingly slow four ball ahead that seemingly refused to let anyone play through, so that held up the whole course. I definitely be back to play again. Good value too
Unfortunately couldn’t play
Booked a tee time through golf now app ,unfortunately my playing partner had to isolate the night before so never got to play ,cost me £62
Wow.....massive changes.
Been a few years since I visited here, approximately 16 years since I first drive through the impressive gates to a slightly let down golf course.....I kept returning in the hope that thinks would change!
Well after not playing here for probably 3 years, I'd say they finally have.
Lovely big proper bunkers with a decent amount of nice non builders sand in them, the course is almost the same layout, quirky and tricky in areas, with places to open those shoulders and let rip!!
Unfortunately the greens were being hollow tyned, so sandy,
( we had been warned the previous day) but wanted a game anyhow.....this meant the putts weren't true and had a lot of bobbles, but didn't distract from the fact of how nicely matured this place was looking.
Played just over my handicap of 7 there, despite still putting against the millions of grains each time....the other 3 with me were equally impressed too.
Well done Skylark, nice to see you finally developed into a short but good test of golf!
