18 temperorary greens and no knowledge till we arrived, what a shame as the course is excellent

First time at Saddleworth Golf Club and I will be back. In spite of the time of year (January) the course was in great condition with little dampness - even for us high handicappers playing in and out of the rough. The lady in the Pro shop (sorry didn’t get name) was brilliant and chatty and gave a really warm welcome. The course is full of great views, some ups and downs but, overall, a fair challenge. We both really enjoyed our January afternoon on “the dark side” - well, we are from Yorkshire!!!

Great course with beautiful views and some cracking par 3's

Enjoyed the round found the course in decent condition for time of year but there were a lot of blind holes and would play differently if I played again. Only real criticism was not enough easily visible 150 markers

On a friends recommendation we played this course on a windy late Autumn Saturday afternoon. Greeted by the friendliest pro shop lady I’ve ever met, she checked us in and rented me a powakaddy trolley with gps for only £7.50.

This course is hilly to say the least but strangely it didn’t seem to tire us out. Great layout with challenging and interesting holes, especially when the wind was gusting. Incredible views of the surrounding countryside make this course a must play!! We will be coming back here again!!

Played at 7.42am so it was very quiet which led to us having one of the nicest rounds I have had in ages. Came here 9 years ago and packed in after 1 hole due to torrential rain and it's taken us that long to get back. I don't think we'll wait another 9 years. Course was in great condition and for the £15 green fee was unbelievable value. The views alone are worth half the green fee. We'll be back.

our 4 ball was put out in the middle of a club competition and we was warned, in no uncertain terms,that we must keep up with the 3 ball in front as we would "get grief" from the members if we didnt, as they where good golfers and they would not appreciate being held up. 2 things, dont put visitors out mid comp and do not prejudge our ability just because we booked through T.O.T.(we kept up with the pace of play no problem and pulled away from the" high quality" members 4 ball behind us) we also got abuse from a member from the club house balcony for not leaving the 18th green via the preferred route, even though there was no signage telling you where to go! in short, great course but the members do not want you there but the pro shop and no doubt the committee, want your money!!

The first time that I have played this course, but I look forward to playing it again. nice variation of holes,fairways and greens in excellent condition,all in all well worth a visit.try it ,I do not think that you will be disappointed.

Played on a slightly full day but views were still great. Nice interesting golf course which was in good condition. Will definitely return.
