Not what I expected :(

After being recommended by a friend, I thought I would give it a go on my day off, but I’m not quite sure if I’ve wasted my time or not. A very corporate affair, but still very welcoming to the a weekend golfer.

I can’t really be too negative about the course condition as the weather has spoiled it for all everywhere, but at my age I wasn’t anticipating going hill walking to such an extent!

The amount of time I spent hunting for balls that had rolled off the fairway into the treeline foliage was unbelievable which inevitably spoilt it in the main, the greens however were very well maintained and fast but true, the tea box again were as good as they can be given the circumstances of the weather and again well looked after all the same. Course layout was good course directions were good, some nice holes some not so nice holes, pretty much like most golf courses I suppose, it was just the hills that spoilt it for me.

Would I recommend the course given that I only played two of the three, I can’t really answer that, but would I go back? Probably not given my experience and the cost which I think is a touch high.

Hope this helps.

Sandford Springs

Course was in excellent condition given the recent hot and dry conditions. It was a pleasure to play.

Nice course would recommend

Nice Golf course we play the Parks-Woods layout the Woods was much better than the Parks, the woods had some really nice holes. I would definitely play that again but ideally with the lakes as the Parks was nothing special. Greens were in good condition pace of play was slow as we was behind a group of 7 playing but they reduced down to 4 for the back 9 where the marshal was checking. Nice layout didn't go in the clubhouse so can't comment.

Wonderful afternoon

First visit here, will definitely go again. The front of house staff were very welcoming, as was the pro shop and the course played super well. Greens were in great nick across all 18 holes. A wonderful afternoon.

Wet weather

It was almost an unplayable day.

It was almost an unplayable day. The sky's opened up to the point of tee off.

The course was soaked, with the greens, fairways and bunkers underwater.

The play was very difficult. We would suggest, it should have been closed.

Especially at £45.00 around. (3 ball)

Delayed tee times

After arriving at the course we were told our online booking had been moved back by 1 hr 20mins. After driving an hour to the venue I found this totally unacceptable. I was quoted to “read the terms & conditions.”

Overall decent enough course, greens were ok but not happy with the booking system. Play was slow as I believe they had double booked the tee times.

Great Course, Great Views, Great Day

First time playing Sandford Springs. My friend and I played Parks & Woods and we will definitely come back to play Lakes. Given the ridiculously hot weather the course and specifically the Greens were in great condition. There are some easy holes, and then there are some brutal holes where course experience definitely helps (we didn't have it), but it's great for golfers of all abilities.

Clubhouse staff were helpful and friendly, barely saw anyone else out on the Course (due to heat). Only improvement would be better signage to some of the holes, specifically 12th and 13th on Woods.

Will definitely be back.

Better than I expected

First time playing (Woods and Lakes). Hilly course with plenty of water, and much more interesting than I expected. Greens were in good condition.

Agree with others than some more signage between holes would be helpful, but otherwise great course and will def be back.

An amazing course!!

Prior to our round, my friends and I had never played Sandford Springs before. But we had an exceptional experience. Everyone was friendly, including the staff and members. The course is in phenomenal condition and pace of play was really good. Will definitely be coming back here. Only £30 where I would’ve happily paid double that. Would definitely recommend!!
