Greens are in fantastic condition. And so are the fairways for the majority. A few areas still waterlogged but doesn’t impact the round. The bunkers are GUR and actively being renovated. Course will be in perfect condition in a few weeks. Can’t grumble and always enjoy my round and finished off nicely with a pint on the terrace

Having not played for a few years as I understood there were some difficulties at the club it was a very pleasant surprise to see a fantastic new clubhouse with all the modern facilities, course was in great condition, weather was superb and only spoilt by 3 footballs in front who clearly had no intention of letting a 2 ball through and subsequently walked off after 16. Shame that spoilt the experience but was very impressed with how the place looks now. Congrats to who ever has turned this around

2nd time at shirland,great course as always maintained to a high standard,staff & other golfers chatty & friendly with great weather to boot.. .will be back again

Good challenging course. Some difficult holes that look daunting! Bunkers weren't up to much and a couple of tee boxes could've done with a trim but overall well looked after.

The course was great, greens were perfect and the new club house is awesome will definitely be going back, cheers, Phil.

Only my 3rd full round but decided to try shirland,was warned its a challenging course & that was how it turned out to be but thoroughly enjoyed the round & tbh the course made me think about my shots & play better

This is a fantastic course to play in summer. Lovely and peaceful and fairways and greens now in great nick. It has four par 5 holes, but all of them are parable with the right shots. First hole I would say is a little easy to get you bedded in. You can come away with a good score on the course even if it's a first time visit. The tip is don't play the course in late Autumn to mid spring. It a pretty flat course so it doesn't have the natural drainage to cope.

First time on the course. Bargain price. Very few others around, thus good pace. Greens were really well maintained. The course whilst short in places required sensible thinking and planning. Impressed with course, greenkeepers obviously take pride in their work and it showed. Superb views of surrounding countryside. Unfortunately finished late and bar closed, other than that great day out.

As you enter you can see the grand new clubhouse building being built it looks fantastic. The course is excellent a couple of holes over 500 yards all were in good conditions. Due to the popularity of the course and numbers play was slower than expected but still really enjoyable

Living in Heanor I have a good choice of local courses but I wanted to play somewhere different so decided to give this course another try.

Good course layout with interesting/challenging holes.

Great value for money although some rain will improve the greens which a little worn/tired and the bunkers need to have sand in them and not soil although I was lucky enough to avoid them.

Friendly staff and nice out door beer garden.

Decent pint of lager afterwards as well.

Worth a visit.
