Hot Day
After a summer of sun, predictably the fairways were hard but the greens were superb although we didnt manage to get the hang of em. A stern test and im sure it would play a lot different after a bit of rain. Thoroughly enjoyed the challenge after a few pointers from the very amiable pro shop. Looking forward to playing it again under different conditions. 10 out of 10🥵🥵🥵
Sloping Course…
The course was in good condition; especially the greens; they rolled true and consistent. The course is pretty hilly with lots of sloping fairways which can penalise a good drive. The two par 3’s over water on the front 9 are standout holes and were my favourite on the course. Overall an enjoyable round with friends.
Second time not so good!
The facilities are good, and the pro shop is friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, this visit was disappointing due to the tail-end of a fiddle which was oblivious to anyone on the course and behind them. As members (I am a member elsewhere), you would think they would know how to 'ring the bell' to notify the player/s behind. Appreciate I was a single player, but this shouldn't preclude you. Anyhow, walked off after 8 holes as the group in front was looking like a 5 hour round, when they actually hit the ball.
Note: Do not book on a Wednesday at midday as you'll be in for a long one!
A Round at Silkstone Golf Course
This is an excellent course that offers a great variety of holes. It provides a good test with sloping fairways, excellent greens, and features some hills and water hazards. The staff and members are friendly; one member even joined me for the first nine holes. I would definitely play here again and am even considering becoming a member.
Beautiful course.
Lovely course, first time playing here and will definitely be returning. Very hilly but makes the course a good challenge, great condition. Not the fastest pace of play but the course was quite busy so that’s totally understandable. Not got a bad word to say about the place really, definitely worth the money if your thinking about a visit.
Great course.
Played on a Saturday afternoon. Course was not too busy so got round in a buggy in under 3 and a half hours as a two ball.
Course is really well laid out with some good challenging holes and tricky greens. A good test of golf.
The staff were really friendly from the Pro welcoming us to the course to the Bar staff.
I will definitely return to play again when in the area.
Well worth the trip
Used to be a midweek member here but that was many years ago and the course has changed out of all recognition.
Very good test of golf and course in very good condition apart from litter on every single hole. This is my massive bugbear about golfers today - there are bins for those too lazy to put the empty bottles/wrappers/packets back in the bag they brought them out in. Just as bad are the rest who walk past and don’t see it. Please if you’re too stupid to use a bin, find a different sport.
This is well worth £23 and was a lovely sunny afternoon.
Top notch golf club
Greens in exceptional condition after all this rain we've had hole link together nice few water features great course to play
Excellent course….
Lovely course, great layout, you can see in some places it’s been a struggle with all the rain, but which course hasn’t. Best greens I’ve played for some time, all in all a great course I that I will return to.
Excellent course
Played this course for the second time and will play it again and again. It is in magnificent condition,. Tremendously varied with each hole interesting and varied. Drives are not difficult but you need to be on the required side of the fairway to have a shot at the green otherwise a bogey beckons. I took 3 friends who had never played it before and had praised it so much I was worried that they would be disappointed but no they loved it as much as I did. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, as were the members when we got lost on 2 occasions
Great visit
Visited with 3 friends from Woolley park great course and very welcoming we will definitely be back 👍🏌️♂️
Tricky greens
Course in great condition, wish I'd played it better!
Disappointed
Two holes not in play and a temporary green in August. Pro didn't mention anything when we checked in
Great course
First time playing here in 10 years and it was much nicer than I remember. The course was in fabulous condition and that’s with all the rain we’ve had this month. The design is really nice and it’s a course which makes you think about each shot. This is not to say it’s overly difficult it just seems to guid you in a way that you appreciate how thoughtful each hole is. I would totally recommend people put this course on their to play list you won’t be disappointed.
