Played on our way back toS Wales after a staycation tour of England and Scotland- friendly staff, course well presented and in excellent condition. Green keeper had recently hollow tined the greens so taking that into account the course was in v good condition. It’s probably shorter than average but nevertheless still presents a decent challenge. Would recommend and play again if in same area.
Great condition
The course was in great condition. The greens were slick and of a good pace and the tee blocks had a good covering of grass. The Layout of the course is compact but enough room here n there. Overall the course played very well and our 3 Ball went round in 3hrs 20mins.
Slow as usual.
For the time of year and all the rain we've had course was pretty good' greens were very good.
Slow play here is a major problem.
Greens in top condition Loads of rain days before not one green even damp No divots or ball marks greens staff should be proud .
like millionaires golf nobody in sight.Easy walking course 2hrs 20mins.
Great course and value for money, played on a Sunday and pace of play was excellent. Staff in the club shop was very welcoming and helpful
Will definitely be returning to play this golf course
A perfect days golf
The friendliest and most welcoming club I’ve been to . Staff couldn’t do enough to make us welcome. Lovely course and layout . Good condition, bunkers with sand . A good test on a predominately flat course . Great value for money and would recommend to anyone..
Will definitely be going back .
Could be really nice
The good - practice facilities are good, course layout has backbone for a really good challenge, bunkers well maintained and lots of sand.
The bad - charging £32 for a round I would expect the course to be in good condition based on the time of the year. The fairways were not cut, the tee boxes were like sand pits and the greens were frankly appalling.
Having played here last year and thoroughly enjoying the course, we were disappointed that the current management have let the course "go". Could be a good golf course but my advice is to play the course nearby which is very well looked after.
Golf day
A nice friendly golf club, very welcoming. Enjoyed the course and the day. My only criticism is that the fairways are very wide. Food was good to finish off a nice day out.
Cost of round
Course was in fantastic condition the only thing was not happy about paid £54 for the 2 ofusto play through tee off times if we rang the course would of cost us £18-50 when we went to check in the lady told us so will ring direct next time
Always slow
Nice course' nice people but pace of play is always slow. 3 hour 15 minute course for a 3 ball' ends up way over 4 hours...please get a member of staff out on a buggy to speed up play.
Enjoyable but slow
The main problem here as with many courses is slow play' i'm 58' as a 3 ball 3 hours 15 mins for a 6000 yard course is a nice pace' but will often take 4/30 plus. People just seem reluctant to call you through' even when it's clear in front.
A Lovely Park Course
Out annual trip away, where we find a course on Tee Off Times. The course was in great condition, the greens well maintained and moderately quick. Some aspects of the course are reasonably challenging. On the day there was a club competition, so we got about a third of the way round before we started to get held up. The round took about 4 hours 15 mins, which would have just under 4 hours for our threesome. The club house is very nice, it looks quite new. I would definitely play here again when next in the area.
Game at Stratford Oaks
Very friendly staff and players. I’d had lessons from the pro here but this is the first opportunity I had of playing the course. Loved it!
Lovely parkland course
This was the fourth time of playing Stratford Oaks, the last time the greens had been affected by some sort of fungus so were in a terrible condition. I am pleased to say that this has now largely been eradicated and the greens were in nice condition. As with most golf courses at the moment the fairways were dry and scorched but at least you get a lot of roll!! Bunkers were well filled with good quality sand and there were ball washers on each tee (all full). The course is a traditional parkland so nice and easy to walk with no hills and fairly wide fairways. All in all a very pleasant course which I will definitely play again.
Excellent value for money
Course in great condition, friendly staff and great value.
Lovely course becoming a member
Have played a couple of times before early in the season and wanted to play again now it has dried out.
Course is in great condition and greens are nearly there after a long winter.
The bunkers could do with a little more work or even a little more sand and they are almost unplayable on some holes.
Very happy overall and have decided to make this my new home club.
Well worth a visit to this hidden gem.
Enjoyable
Usually slow here but it was quiet' maybe the windy weather had something to do with it .
Nice friendly welcome from lady at reception.
The course was in pretty good nick for the time of year' apart from some drainage work they were doing' but the greens were excellent .
Got called through when we caught a few groups up' all in all a very enjoyable day.
course etiquette
one of the slowest rounds I have ever played; the 3 ball ( members ) in front of us would not let us play through, eventhough they were only hitting their drives 25 yards. incredibly they wouldn't drive off until the group in front of them were 300 yards ahead !!!The 2 ball behind us gave up and went home and the group behind them did the same
