ALL YEAR COURSE - for all levels
Really like this course. We've played it a few times. It stands up to the weather well. We've had a lot of rain this year and the course is in good condition. Staff are really good & they are making improvements to the course now, ready for the summer. £40 is a fair price to play this course, sometimes they raise this up and we don't tend to play it, when the cost is higher. Recommended to play at this price.
Thank you for your 5* review! We look forward to seeing you again soon.
The course is just turning into top condition
A realy challenging couse with the lush rougth , making finding the fairway a great advantage . Every aspect of the club was very impressive .
Thank you for your review, we look forward to seeing you again soon.

Great considering the weather!
I played this course the other day and considering all the recent wet weather we have experienced it was great. It was a bit wet in places but this is to be expected after the rainfall. The course was playing well and the greens were in good condition. I look forward to coming back soon.
Thank you for your 5* review!
Winter Golf
Course is wet in places but not surprising with the amount of rain we have had. No temporary greens or tees so really as good as any where at the moment.
Too wet to open
The course condition was probably too wet to safely stay open, the walkways between holes were treacherous as they were both steep and sodden. My playing partner fell over because of it, luckily unhurt. The management should have closed the course, however it was incredibly busy so they may well have taken the money over player safety and future course conditions. It’s a shame as the course would be great in the dry. The bunkers were full of water and you quite often needed to unplug your ball from the fairway. Greens were covered in clods of mud from the shoes of previous players.
Poor Course Conditions
Played here last weekend, 2 4balls , not allowed to use trolleys , told this when we all gathered on the 1st tee. Greens were in poor condition, sand , mud . Lots of trees removed. Overall considering these are winter conditions they still charge top dollar. Not good value for money
We are disappointed to read your feedback regarding your round. We have been clearing the undergrowth which has been left unmanaged for the last 20 years to smarten certain areas of the course. During the week that you played we had our greens maintenance take place which ALL golf clubs must do to maintain the greens to a high standard. The greens would have had some sand residue but the majority of sand would have been swept in and the greens cut and rolled. We are in spring and the long spell of wet weather we have had has not been kind however all playing surfaces were in play. We are good value for money for the product that we offer. We hope to see you again soon.
Thank you for you for your review! We hope to see you again soon.
Disappointing
Nice course but too open (they’ve cut down so many trees - why?), very muddy and stony bunkers.
When we played, there was a society on that was very poorly managed. Up to 25 minutes a hole. Should have been managed so much better. And the clubhouse was too busy for us to get into afterwards for a drink.
We are disappointed to read your feedback regarding your round. We have been clearing the undergrowth which has been left unmanaged for the last 20 years to smarten certain areas of the course. The green keeping team have been working hard to maintain the course while the weather has been very poor and we have been through this tough period without the use of temporary tees or greens. We are a popular course and the weekends are a busy time for us. We have course marshals out working to mange the course. We hope that we will see you again soon.
Thank you for your 5* review! See you again soon!
Beautiful course
2 ball - Over 5 hours! Need I say more?
Course was in great condition. Definitely a testing layout. Greens very true. Pace was woeful
We are pleased to hear you enjoyed the condition of the course and found the course a good test! We are disappointed however you felt the pace of play was slow. We have a starter and marshal out on the course because weekends are very busy and most groups play in 3 or 4 balls. We hope you will come back and play again in the future!
Thank you for your 5* review! See you again soon!
First time
Superb condition, greens spiked but run true would definitely play again
Thank you for your review! We are pleased you had a good round and enjoyed the condition of the course. We use small tines in the greens and tees during the winter period to help with drainage and aeration. The tines are so small they bare no real affect on play. We look forward to seeing you again.
Great All Year Round Option
Course playing well despite recent bad weather. Greens rolling excellently and no sign of temporary tees.
Thank you for your review! We are pleased you enjoyed your round. Despite the weather we guarantee not to use any temporary tees or greens and we are one of the best draining courses in the area! We look forward to seeing you again soon.
I love this course!
I have played Surrey National many times over the years and I still enjoy playing it now. The course itself is in fantastic condition considering the weather we have had recently. All the playing surfaces were in great nick and the greens were true. I can see that there are improvements taking place around certain areas of the course which I'm sure will make it even better. I'll definitely be coming back again.
Decent Winter Condition
I've played here many times and for mid November the course is in decent condition. Better than Westerham in the winter and probably the same as Woldingham. Not bad value for money. Only thing I dislike about the course is most holes are on a gradient so playing balls above or below feet on most shots which can be challenging.
Appalling
Two hours and forty minutes to play 9 holes teeing off at 11:36 on a Friday.
Three hours and ten minutes to play 11 holes. At that point, we gave up, as we didn’t want to be any further from the club house and the holes in front of us were backed up.
We put a call into the clubhouse on the 8th, but the situation got worse after that. ‘A society’ the excuse - come on.
It doesn’t take five hours to play a round of golf, if the tee times were properly spaced out and the course marshalled.
Had a nightmare here before on a Saturday & will avoid in the future.
I did raise this with the club shop afterwards and their kind offer was a voucher for 18 holes anytime midweek for…..the next month. Thanks but no thanks
We are sorry to see that you have left a poor review after your round yesterday.
Friday turned out to be a busy day for us due to the superb weather we ended up having, it meant we did become busier as more golfers wanted to play. You were a two ball playing behind groups of 3 and 4 balls which is unfortunate so we can understand that your round would had been naturally somewhat slower.
The professional did offer you a complimentary 18 hole midweek round to use. You were not happy with the 1 month period, so he did offer to extend this to 2 months instead. This was not accepted.
We are a popular and busy golf course. We can get busy certainly at peak times and when the weather is as good as it was on Friday. The tee times are properly spaced out and we did have our staff go out onto the course to do some marshalling. We are sorry that this did not help you at the time, however we think that the offer of a complimentary round was fair.
Great course but really need to address the pace of play.
I’ve played here quite a few times and it’s genuinely one of my favourite Surrey. Tracks The last sunny weekend of the year when every golfer in the Uk was trying to squeeze in their last round of the year! But to this point. It took forever!!! Waiting up 20 mins on some tee boxes with 2 to 3 groups waiting. Think we played 5hrs 20. And we normally around there in a lot less time. I don’t mind slow play but as long as you’re moving…. We just weren’t. And we pretty much Finished in the dark. Think they perhaps had too many people on the course this day with not enough spacing of tee times? The rough wasn’t too bad but think people still struggled to find balls which doesn’t help pace. It’s tough because daylight is less and loads of people want to play, but think if you want to keep people coming back, rather have 1 less tee time per hour out or more Marshall’s?
Thank you for your review and feedback. We are pleased that Surrey National is one of your favourite courses in Surrey. It was a very busy day when you played due to the exceptional weather which is very rare in November. Every tee time was booked and the majority of bookings were 4 balls. The course is playing longer due to the wet ground and the rough even though at a good length is makes it more difficult to play out from and find your ball when sodden. We did have our course marshal and a starter working this day to help in the movement of golfers. We are always looking into ways of improvement and appreciate the feedback and hope that you will come and visit us again soon.
We are pleased you enjoyed your round! We look forward to seeing you soon.
