Great Day Out
Course in great condition considering dry spell over the past few months. Lots of work being done to the fairways which have suffered. Greens excellent and welcome by staff all good.

The golf course and clubhouse has a very pleasant atmosphere. The couse is a interesting challenge and in good condition considering the dry summer.

Pace of play was shocking. Nearly 6 hours for 18 holes. Greens in great condition but fairways were awful. Not cut, couldn’t not tell difference between fairway and first cut. Had heard a lot about this course but was bitterly disappointed
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, We are sorry to see you felt disappointed. Unfortunately with the extreme dry and drought conditions the country were experiencing a couple of weeks ago, it has been difficult to maintain the course due to the lack of rainfall. This has meant that some areas on fairways have become patchy but there have been preferred lies in place if required. At the time of play we had 3 or 4 storms in the days leading up which brought a lot of heavy rain with them and made certain parts of the course unsafe to cut. All tees, greens and approaches were in great shape and had been cut prior to your visit. The course is in fantastic condition and compared to other courses in the area. We are sorry to hear your experienced some slow play. Golf had become very busy overnight due to the cancellation of sport across the country due to the Queens passing and was slightly slower than normal. However we did have a marshal and starter out on the course to make sure that groups were moving and we did not have any phone calls regarding slow play on the day or any other reports from groups that were coming in from the course so we are surprised to hear you felt it took so long to get round. We hope that you will come back and give us another try soon.
Not worth the money
Course was very scruffy, fairways are a long, patchy mess. Greens were the only saving grace. No signage around the course to find the next tee or maps of the holes on each tee and with so many blind tee shots it's a guessing game. The 'cart path' was a treacherous mess of stones and debris, I wouldn't be surprised if someone has injured themselves going round the course. Fairways slope off onto other fairways with no rough to hold up the ball, meaning players are constantly crossing over one another to play their second shots. Overall I would avoid for the price they're asking, there are many more courses in Surrey that are the same price and are infinitely better in condition and layout.

Ourselves like all golf courses in the country suffered and considering this we were in fantastic condition compared to most courses locally. There was preferred lies in place at the time of play if you wanted to use the ruling, The buggy paths are being worked on in the winter months when the course is quieter however buggies were permitted on the grass. We hope you will come back and give us another go once the weather conditions improve for golf.

Good and bad
Course in great condition for this time of year and the hot dry weather. The play was slow. We waited on most tees and I think the group in front had not played much before and were all over the place and did not wave us through. We waited 10 minutes on some tees which was frustrating as apart from one other group the course was clear ahead. Marshal was ineffective. Nice clubhouse set up high. I wouldn’t play again here but if you dont mind waiting its not a bad layout

We are pleased that you were able to see the marshal but sad that this did not help. We are sure the marshal would have spoken to the slow group you had mentioned and asked them to let groups play through. We would normally expect on a busy weekend day for a round to take 4.5 hours. We hope that you will change your mind and come to play again soon.

A nice course, in very good nick just didn’t have much memorability too it to match the price. A little on the dear side, especially with randoms walking and sitting down around on the course.

A fantastic course
Surrey National is one of the better public courses i have played in Surrey and the only reason for the 4 star rating is that whilst playing as a 1 ball a group of 4 members refused to let me play through after being stuck behind them from hole 11. If I was in a 2 ball or 3 ball I wouldn't have minded as much but I was playing as a solo and had a great round going! Will definitely revisit though. If I don't end up behind them again, this course is a real beauty.

good course with many undulations. some holes you cannot visualise your tee shot over the next hill so difficult to manage if you are a big hitter. course been made in several valleys so ball often above or below stance. well kept. i thought £40 for a before 7am tee was a tad too much though.

Surrey National showing great progress
I have played Surrey National on and off since it’s early Happy Valley days with mixed feelings, so I was very pleased to see how much progress has been made of late and now believe it can be considered a fine course.
I was particularly pleased with the excellent condition of the tees and greens along with the excellent fairways.
I would actively encourage any previous cynics to go play and enjoy this lovely course.
