Not Far Of Being Top Draw
Good course layout with some great holes ,Tee boxes looking well used ,Greens are good but the biggest disappointment was the bunkers they was shocking. This has potential to be a top course just a bit of tlc is needed.
To busy with too many none golfers
I won’t play here again. We queued for every shot on every hole. The Manor no longer seem to care who’s playing as long as they’re paying. I’d hate to be a member there. And to top it all off the greens had been scarified and sanded so we’re very inconsistent
Fantastic Course
First time playing here and this is now my favourite course!
Immaculate fairways and challenging greens.
Great water features which I managed to avoid for once
Very good
Very good. Challenging course and nicely designed. Only downside was the bar wasn't open after the round.
Terrible
It was a beautiful sunny afternoon but this course soon dampened our spirits. Temporary greens which were basically flags in the fairway. The fairways looked like they’d been last cut pre-covid and the greens were anything but green. Played Calverley the week before and I didn’t think it could get much worse. WILL NOT be visiting again.

Thank you for your review. I am sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your round of golf at The Manor. We have been undertaking the first phase of our extensive development work on 3 of the holes and that is why we were playing to temporary greens.
This was noted if you booked online and you received a discounted price to account for this. All the drainage work is now complete and the new green on the 11th hole is also complete, we are just waiting for this to grow in and do further prep work prior to its opening at the start of the season next year.
In relation to the fairways, these are cut twice a week at 14mm, certainly not pre-covid which would have been 18 months ago.
Once again, I'm sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your round of golf with us and hope you find another course which better suits your needs.

Range balls!
Lots of work being carried out on the course on several holes. They need to address the range ball issue on the 1st and 10th holes as they are all over the place

Always best to use a yellow or orange ball on 1 & 10

Thank you for your review. We hope to welcome you again soon.

Shame about the work being carried out.
Bit disappointing that the work being done on hole 2 and 11 isn’t mentioned when booking on golf now. Other than than the course was playing ok. My only other gpripe being that the greens were quite slow and looked like they had been aerated which seems strange at this time of year.

Thank you for your review. I am sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your visit. There was a note when booking on line that works were been done on the course and some holes would be playing to temporary greens however, I appreciate this could be missed. We did also offer a discount on green fee rates to take into account the work been done.
The work is now complete and this should mean the 1st and 2nd holes will have much improved drainage over winter. We still have a temporary green on 11 whilst the new green grows in, this should be ready for the start of next season and should be a signature hole on the course.
In terms of the greens, we have an intense maintenance regime in place to reduce thatch, increase speed and also improve their health and disease tolerance. We are seeing massive improvements but they still have a way to go and as part of this we have to undertake additional aeration. our aim is that The Manor will have some of the best greens in the area.
I do hope you decide to visit us again in the future and see some of the improvements we are making.

Not quite Lord of the Manor
The weather was hot and sunny which helps. The fairways were quite long and the cut even longer. The greens were in good condition and made me look good.
Hole 2 is a winter green due to major refurbishments and 11 alongside is closed so only 17 holes.
Hole 1 and 10 are close to the range and are littered with balls so you may hit a great shot but finding your ball coukd be a task. While on the first tee balls were falling around the ladies tee where my wife was hitting. Too many mis hits so we believed this was deliberate and dangerous.
The course is up and down with curvy landscape and is anything but dull. It was a pleasure to play and would definitely be back to try and become The Lord
Good summer course
Excellent course although there where a couple holes closed. Looking forward to playing it after the upgrades.
Won’t be returning
Before I begin, I was aware prior to booking on the club website regarding drainage works on holes 1 and 2 and the reconstruction of the green on the 11th. Why this wasn’t undertaken during the recent lockdown, god knows.
Firstly, tee times were an absolute lottery and I had to wait over 10 minutes from my allocated tee time to being able to tee off.
Then the fairway on the 1st was covered in balls from the adjacent range and then the 2nd is an absolute joke. What should be a decent par 4 is turned into a pitch and putt to a flag in the middle of the fairway! No temporary green cut, nothing.
The pace of play was painfully slow, especially given the twilight tee time. There was also a group of youth playing around the 18th green!
Would not recommend and will not be returning.

Thank you for your review and feedback. I am sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your visit to The Manor and the round of golf you played.
The drainage works to the 1st & 2nd fairways and the construction of the new green on the 11th have been in the planning for well over a year with our course architect. The specialist contractors have been booked in the diary since September last year and this is by far the most extensive improvement work we have carried out since the course opened 25 years ago.
The reason the work was not carried out during lockdown is that major drainage and construction projects must be carried out in the summer months, May been the earliest month they regard as summer. We would have loved to carry out all this work during lockdown but it would have gone against all the professional advice & guidance we have received. We know having a temporary green on the 2nd hole is far from ideal, especially in summer but the alternative would have been to close the hole completely which our members committee voted against in favour of the temporary.
We made it clear on our booking system that these holes would be playing to temporary greens and the green fee was reduced to reflect this. We also made it clear that if you were not happy with this situation to not book and play somewhere else.
In terms of tee times, like every golf course, we have experienced exceptional demand. Tee times have been under severe pressure and at peak times these sometimes get behind, in your case 10 minutes. I appreciate this gets you off to a bad start especially when the pace of play is also running slow. We do have course Marshalls to police this and we would encourage anyone to phone the pro shop and report any problems so we can resolve them asap. Again in terms of youths hanging around the 18th green this is not within our control however if it is reported to the Pro shop we can then try to move them on.
Once again I am sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your round with us and hope you find another course to play that better matches your expectations.
