Lovely Course but....
Not in great condition
Greens poor
Two holes currently unplayable
Two other holes shortened
Extremely wet, lost three balls after good shots with balls plugging.
Artificial tees
Very disappointed!!
Should have been advised pre booking that not playing as an 18 hole course..
Winter Set-Up
I like the Manor but sadly for the cost £21 I would not recommend playing it during the winter set up.
If I had known about the changes before hand I would have selected another course.
Every tee is off a mat which I hate but obviously understand when autumn comes around. The problem however, is that the majority of the mats were nowhere near the official tees making some of the holes considerably shorter in distance
Holes 10 and 11 are no longer in play. Hole 2 has been reduced in distance by half making it effectively a pitch and put with a winter green with a bucket size hole cut into the fairway.
You do get the option to play holes 1 and 2 again to complete 18 holes
The staff and clubhouse are excellent but it will be next summer before I book the Manor again
Well Maintained, Value for Money
Great course layout. Well maintained including the bunkers. The greens are nice. Every tee box has a clear hole layout and its general distances. It does help a lot and save time. Well done, the Manor.
Pretty course
Nice pretty course, not too long off yellows.
Greens bit bobbly but it’s that time
of year when work has been done on them.
GPS watch not in sync with the new course layout which we were not aware of
A very good course
A Great venue With nice open fairways and some very tricky holes on the back 9. Loved it.
Only down side. You need to Tee off with a non white ball on the 1st and 10th holes due to the range being in the middle of both fairways and trying to find your ball amongst all the range balls is somewhat frustrating and time consuming.
But once past that it’s a very good course.
Almost perfect
Other than the range balls dropping right beside you and being all over the fairways on hole 1 and 10 the course is class! Literary no complaints other than that. Friendly staff, nice club shop, nice course.
Enjoyable game
Enjoyed the course. The greens are currently undergoing aeration treatment so not ideal but it’s for the greater good. The rest of the course looks in great condition, staff were out working on the course and raking the bunkers as they passed.
Hot deal issues
Hot deals should not be offered to different members.
A 4rh person turned up unknown to us who was outside my shielding group.
I had to leave immediately.
I have played many times with hot deals but under the current corona virus issues I will never use golf now again going forward.
Spoilt my day......
golf at the manor
the course was in a fair condition apart from the greens they had been spiked as i call it the play was very slow and backed up and the 10th fairway was littered with range balls. I've played there before and have to admit its usually a good course to play may be it was due to the current pandemic situation but i didn't enjoy the game but again as I've said its usually a very enjoyable course to play let hope they get it back to its best for my next visit
The course
Great greens and fairways in could conditions nice lay out
Brilliantly challenges and fun to play
Although it's currently only 9 holes due to it being winter you can see that it's a brilliant and interesting course to play. It not a flat and boring course and like so many in the area. It has plenty of water and great views. Has few intimidating holes which adds to the fun. Really looking forward to playing in the summer.
Well maintained and enjoyable course
Fun 18 hole course offering a variety of challenge. It has some of the longest and most challenging par 4's I've personally played on so far. Some interesting hazards and beautiful scenery. There's lots of wildlife about - ducks, geese, rabbits, squirrels, deer... Most of them seem very used to golfers and will happily sit a few yards away from you whilst you're taking a shot.
There's a smaller par 3 course for refining your game or if you've just started playing. Also a putting green, chipping green, practice bunker and floodlit driving range.
Staff are friendly and welcoming. The clubhouse is nice and the drinks aren't too expensive. It would be improved if it had a proper light outside and it would be even better if it had an electric heater.
The condition of the course is great. We've had a lot of rain recently and whilst there were some muddy areas, it's in a lot better condition than all the other courses I've played on recently. The greens especially have all been carefully managed throughout the wet weather and are in great condition.
Definitely going to be a regular here
