Excellent course in great nick !

First time I have played Thorney Park in a while and it was in great condition - greens the best I have played on this year.

There is no driving range to warn up but a good practise green and the staff are always friendly.

The course is 2 loops of 9 and is thoroughly enjoyable - there is 2 good par 3s on opening 9 (the longish downhill 2nd and the 7th over water, well-protected by bunkers) plus the slightly 'weaker' 8th. The 9th is a tough par 4, a right to left dogleg at a right angle.

The back 9 is a little more 'up & down' - picturesque par4/5s until the 17th - another par 3 over water.

There is some work going open on the back 9 (utility pipes being laid ?), which was a little unsightly but did not affect play.

Will definitely be back here soon - superb value !

Nice course and well maintained. Some delays from slow groups in front of us but aside from that, great value round of golf.

Lovely little course

First time playing, met a friend for a round after two days of downpour. Greens were great, drainage at this course is really good. Course is short and sometimes a little repetitive but some visually nice and challenging holes scattered around. No driving range but decent putting green and the staff and food were lovely!

Pleasure

My friends and I have played this course maybe a dozen times over the last year and I would defy anyone to find a course at this price In better condition, the greens are immaculate and have been all year , right now they are amazingly good , tee boxes are flat and the fairways are kept very well ,

I simply cannot fault this course.

Well done to all the staff and management 👏.

Just to top it all the food is excellent and the beer selection is a sight for sore feet.

A good find....very friendly place.

Choose to play here as I'd done an Airport run, and always seems pointless to just turn around and head home!

Friendly pro, let me know the lat out of the course, as 2 different 9s...

Some work being done in various areas of the course, only going to get better, as a single it was a slow round, waiting most holes, same on the back 9 even after a few groups stopped for drinks.

Managed to get around in 4 hours, so not bad, challenging in areas, and not knowing the lie of the land let's you guess a few holes.

Love the 9th and 18th holes, no driver required on these or a lot of the par 4s, position is key.

Had a local join me for the last 5 holes, helpful on a couple of lines off the tee...thanks Steve.

As with most courses if the players in front used the divorce bags, repaired pitch marks, raked the bunkers and put litter in the bin....this place would be a bit more special.

Greens were very good and pretty quick, nice slopes too, enjoyed my round, will head back when next in the area,

Good practice green, lovely looking clubhouse and friendly staff and members go a long way. Even the non members were happy to help while we were queuing up on the tees.

Thanks Thorney park....

Serious Value for Money

Group of 8 played on a Sunday morning at the start of September, weather had been pretty bad the days previously but the course had taken it really well.

In all honesty, I didn't expect that much for the price, but this is a little gem and we all had great fun.

While some of the early par 4s are short, they have some elevation change, blind tee shots or doglegs to keep it interesting. All the par 3s are good fun too, with some really nice bits of water adding plenty to the experience.

The greens were really good, they were pretty quick despite the rain in previous days and some of the pin placements were SPICY - a good way to defend what isn't the most difficult track in terms of danger off the tee.

All in all, for a track that's half an hour from central London, this is amazing value and no matter your golfing ability, you'll have plenty of fun.

Great work Thorney Park!

Well maintained, fast greens, great value

Loved our round here, course was in great shape, especially the greens which were very fast. Overall quite simple course with some up and down holes but had a couple narrow tee shots and a few very picturesque holes as well. Staff were very welcoming and value is fantastic, highly recommended.

Thorney Golf Course

What a lovely well run course. The greens are fast but true. Some very long par 4's and some reachable in 1..so chances to make amends on strokes lost

Thorney park

Booked last week to play Sunday 23rd,Rang midweek to see what breakfast options were possible and welcomed with a very friendly person in the pro shop.Breakfast did not disappoint and very friendly staff in the club house.Golf course was in very very good condition with a very good selection of different holes from tee to green all with there own challenges (very important to get tee shot in play) into greens that were very responsive and putting had a true roll with hidden break on some. Overall would definitely come back and would recommend to all levels.
