A bit wet on the day but a great tricky course!
A wet under foot day but the course held up well. A nice front 9 with a really tricky back 9 with plenty of water to avoid. Really sharpens you up.
Decent shop on site and really good value for money at £10 for a round!
Winter round
Even though it had been very wet and the course follows the Wensum river it was still playable and the greens were in good shape considering. Have played both courses the other being the Valley course. The Wensum course with all the water on the back 9 is good fun, but does mean the odd ball will be lost! Great courses well worth playing.
Lovely course
lovely golf course
Tee box and greens In great condition
Fairways and around greens looking very barr and due to scarifying approach to greens needing work
Great course
Excellent course!
Lovely front 9, as you make your way through, you think you've got the whole course sussed.
Then the back nine appears with water, a lot of it.
It gets your brain working and playing strategically.
Then the course ends back on land, giving you a chance to relax again knowing your ball wont be going swimming.
All in all, fantastic course, highly recommend it.
Lovely course
Having played the Valley course a few years ago we decided to take on the somewhat more challenging Wensum course. Have to say we totally loved it. My son and I had a superb round of golf on what I can only say as one of the most picturesque course I have played on from around this part of the country. Yes there are some extremely challenging holes, especially the ones surrounded by water but to combine golf with the stunning countryside and nature is just fantastic. Despite the weather being hot for some time we expected the course to be hard and brown. It wasn't. The greens were in excellent condition and the fairways, albeit a little worn, still better than my regular course. We thoroughly enjoyed the day. We would most certainly would play it again and I always judge a course on whether I would become a member there. I certainly would.
Course good/golfers bad
When we arrived the car park was very busy and we were very surprised to see that golfer were sitting next to each other and there was a bbq on offer and a group of four golfers approaching the 18th on the valley course and then a four golfer group just teeing off on the 1st on the valley in full view of all golfers and two people sharing a buggy/when approaching the pro shop we could clearly see a four ball teeing off the 1st tee of the wensum course inside the pro shop the member of staff gave no information about any rule we needed to follow or made aware of any restrictions in place/we do love the course but felt that the club had lost our confidence in allowing so many people to play in groups of four and nobody checking on the course to insure strict rules were follow or safety of players
Wensum Valley Course
A well laid out golf course. Great value for money!
Greens are very soft this time of year, but that is to be expected.
Only criticism was that the bunkers have a lot of sand in, my ball plugged a couple of times.
I will definitely go again!
Nice course but fairways extremely dry
unfortunately the fairways were in a very poor condition. Like playing off concrete in places
Excellent Vale
Very friendly and helpful staff. Course was in good condition especially the greens. Pace of play was quick - look less than 3 hours 45 minutes for the round.
CHALLENGING COURSE
The fairways were not pristine but were acceptable; however, the greens were outstanding. It made for a challenging but fun day at the links. The water and marsh areas on the back nine are a bit overwhelming. With well placed shots one could do well. There are many opportunities to make mistakes.
Golf at wensum
I have played this course several times and had no problems.i played the course sun 20thmay tee time 13-56 when we arrived on the tee there were 12 or more women waiting to tee off to our dismay one group played in an 8 ball we found out that all the women were playing in a practice game to decide their team to play in a cup competition we .were held up all the way round. I have no problem with practising but why didn't they close the tee say for an hour and half this would have stopped the delay.when I complained at the pro shop there seemed to be no sympathy with our complaint.lit really spoilt our day.
Golfing
Their are two courses here the wensum which I would not advise the high handicapper to play although the surroundings are lovely, the other course is much easier and a nice challenge
Steve Askew
Excellent except that there were temporary greens.
A course of two halves
A great course really well managed and stunning views across the Wensum valley. A course of two halves the out nine holes are reasonably difficult with a mixture of tree lined holes, well placed bunkers. The back nine being almost a different course with water everywhere except the last two! Found the experience difficult in places as a beginner but will defo be playing again. Shot a round of 98 less my handicap which is much needed finished with 70.
Gem of a course
Two mates and myself played The Wensum course for the first time on Saturday afternoon and were totally surprised by a great little golf course that has everything.
Great lay out, great condition, great natural views over the Wensum Valley & on the second nine lots of testing water hazards..
Pace was good, toilets & seating dotted about the course( why don't more courses do this) and very friendly staff in the bar with reasonably priced food too.
The three of us had a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon.
Playing The Valley course next week....
