Sewailo Golf Club
About
Sewailo Golf Club is part of the Casino Del Sol Resort in Tucson, a luxurious resort run by the Pascua Yaqui Tribe. The course's name, Sewailo, means "flower world" in the Yaqui language. When the idea of creating the golf course was first formed, the tribe enlisted the help of fellow Native American and PGA Tour player Notah Begay III as well as renowned course architect Ty Butler. The team fully utilized the rugged landscape, crafting a championship layout with a range of shot values and a variety of hazards. The bunkering is minimal but strategic, added to complement the natural features rather than overpower them. There are also lakes and meandering streams that come into play. Sewailo Golf Club has five sets of tees with the longest stretching to 7,400 yards.

The best of Tucson area
I reserved three different places for my best friend from Las Vegas. He lives Sewailo the best. He wants to play again next visit.
WY escaping the winter
For a first round of the year it was a tough start for us. The course taught us to think about lay up opportunities instead of grip n rip. Pace was good, 1 pm tee time and the course was full. We'd play again, later in our season. Thanks it was a great time and everyone one of the staff we interacted with was pleasant, helpful and
Professional.
Great course, slow play
This course is one of my favorites. But, the pace of play was “wait on every shot”. No course Marshall. When I talked with staff about pace of play they said “too bad. We had a tournament this week and a lot of players came out to play. “. I suggested a Marshall and was told we don’t do that. This is an outstanding layout and the superintendent has done a great job making it a well maintained venue. Although, far too much sand in bunkers, particularly on the sides. Soft and difficult getting in and out of bunkers. I would still recommend playing this course. Troon management needs to recognize that pace of play is a big deal.
What a Great Course
Played with my wife and another couple and just had a great time. From tee to green, the course was perfect and the greens were very good as well. Very scenic and the pace of play was awesome. This is a course to play in Tucson and very reasonably priced. Play it.
Good golf day!
Conditions were real good. Weather was perfect.
Very enjoyable round. Being retired and playing this course for $30 was a plus for me. Will be back again.
Great course
Have played Sewailo many times. It is always in great shape and has a great variety of holes. A unique desert course with plenty of water to contend with.
Greens
Great course, would have liked to have the dew off the greens. All of the moisture affected the putts.
Slow play will kill your day.

I will not play at your course again and I play a lot of golf. A 5 plus hour round is not attractive to me. A couple of holes into the back 9 we were approached one of your staff who said we were 35 minutes behind and it was caused by the groups in front of us. He said he talked to them and the pace would improve. Not, it was worse. You need rangers on both 9es. By the way you are notorious for this problem and apparently have not addressed it according to the the golfer who joined us.
The course and amenities are beautiful. People golfing there should be told to keep a 4:15 pace or pick up and move ahead.
Also the designer erred in having the cart paths so far from the greens. 70 + yards in some cases is excessive and is part of the slow play problem.
Good luck.
A MUST PLAY while in Tucson!
A very nice round. Friendly and helpful staff. New cart, GPS provided (and you’ll need it!)
Course layout very well done. You will get a different look and course depending on the tees you choose.. You will use every club in your bag.
Fun to play U of A home course.
Good condition for Jan. Great friendly staff. GPS on carts helps to eliminate avoiding the trouble. Fun!
Great course in excellent condition
First time playing this course and it was enjoyable. Greens were fast and everything in great condition. Good value.
Always a great experience
Awesome conditions, friendly Staff and beverage carts often.
Beautiful course
The only negative is the lack of a course marshall. Pace of play was so backed up it took us 5 hours to play.
The fairways are challenging (in a good way), lots of bunkers which are full of soft sand, and water and creeks and beautiful landscaping.
We’ll play again and look forward to seeing the Spring desert blooms.
Beautiful course
Beautiful course. Well maintained tee to green. Greens had some patchiness. Overall a great course.
Good Tucson Value
Course in great condition, staff very helpful, great value in Tucson will definitely play again
Mixed bag
It happened to be extremely windy the day I played which really diminished the overall golfing experience. For a first timer, ( the whole foursome were first timers)many holes were confusing , not withstanding the high quality GPS which provides you a hole by hole description/fly over and distances to everything.. It is hard to tell where the hole goes and where the bunkers and hazards are in relation your intended ball flight but the winds played havoc with any distance control you thought you had. I think we played in 4 hr 30 min plus but it could have been much quicker if there was not a five-some unfront of us... that’s never pleasant. I would like to play it again in less windy conditions and with a steadier pace of play.
